Description
Tatsuhito Ikoma originates from Kyōto, mastering iaidō fundamentals under his grandfather before Border recruited him to Mikado City. He ranks among twelve agents compatible with the Black Trigger Fūjin.

Physically, Ikoma possesses light skin, an average build, broad shoulders, green eyes, an aquiline nose, and a square jaw. His medium-length black hair remains perpetually messy and slicked back. In combat, he dons rectangular goggles with a vermillion strap. His standard Border uniform consists of a vermillion jacket featuring a white zipper and black upper sections, worn with an open high collar revealing a round-collared undershirt. The ensemble includes black pants, gray-brown boots, and thick black gloves with gray palms and a brown buckle near the cuff.

Ikoma displays pronounced eccentricity. He rarely exhibits overt emotions yet obsesses over minutiae, interjecting unrelated anecdotes during pre-battle briefings. Mundane subjects like cafeteria menus—especially new dishes such as tuna cutlet rice bowls—excite him intensely. Despite his relaxed demeanor, he meticulously studies opponents' combat logs and burns with passion when facing formidable foes or witnessing extraordinary battle feats. He prioritizes his squad's Rank Wars performance but sidesteps formal strategy sessions, favoring casual teammate chats instead.

A recurring fixation is his craving for popularity, particularly with girls. This drives him to learn guitar and contemplate baking, as he struggles to casually reference his musical skills. He habitually remarks on any mentioned girl's cuteness and frets over his image—refusing to target female opponents to maintain gentlemanly appearances. After victories, he strikes poses for imaginary cameras and exhibits fourth-wall awareness, addressing readers directly or reacting to off-panel remarks.

As captain of B-rank #4 Ikoma Squad, his leadership is titular; tactical decisions primarily fall to teammate Satoshi Mizukami. Ikoma's core contribution is combat prowess, holding Border's No. 6 Attacker rank. He wields Kogetsu masterfully, fighting one-handed while parrying deftly. His signature "Ikoma Senkū" technique modifies the Senkū Trigger: activating it for 0.2 seconds mid-swing extends Kogetsu's range to 40 meters—the Attacker class's longest reach. Developed to counter Takuma Yuba, this slashes effortlessly through walls and defenses. He executes two slashes within Senkū's standard one-second activation, using it for terrain clearance or herding foes. Approaching within 40 meters becomes perilous against him. He bolsters offense with Shield and Full Guard defenses.

During Rank Wars, Ikoma Squad engages in multiple matches. Round 2 sees Ikoma eliminating Masataka Ninomiya via Ikoma Senkū from behind cover. In Round 6 against Tamakoma Second and Ōji Unit, he duels Yūma Kuga evenly until wires disrupt his advantage. He ultimately outs Kuga by predicting an evasion, securing second place. Post-match, he battles Hyuse solo, winning four rounds before an accidental Senkū foul costs him the fifth, prompting an apology. Round 8 against Ninomiya Unit, Tamakoma Second, and Yuba Unit features him pressuring Hyuse with aerial Senkū and feints, though Viper bullets outmaneuver him. His squad earns two points.

Ikoma Squad comprises Attacker Satoshi Mizukami, Gunner Kōji Oki, All-Rounder Kai Minamisawa, and Operator Maori Hosoi. All except Minamisawa speak in Kansai dialect. Ikoma routinely teases Hosoi about her looks and jokes about Oki's girl popularity. He coordinates loosely mid-battle, directing Oki's sniping or combining with Mizukami to clear wire zones. Pre-match, the squad often digresses into topics like cafeteria menus or Jin Yūichi's solo battles.

Beyond Rank Wars, Ikoma Unit guards Mikado City's southern perimeter during Galopoula's invasion. Ikoma frequents solo battle halls, eager to duel elite agents like Jin.
