Description
Misaki Yūki, also known by her Zodiac name Sharyu, is the warrior representing the Monkey in the twelfth Zodiac Tournament of Juni Taisen: Zodiac War. She is a short-haired young woman who wears spectacles, and her combat uniform consists of a headset, an orange scarf, a green combat jacket, a skirt with pantyhose, and boots. She often carries a large bag packed with camping and survival gear. Her appearance includes a fake tail that represents the animal she symbolizes. Misaki is a renowned pacifist and mediator who has spent years traveling the world to facilitate ceasefires and peace agreements, though her efforts have had mixed results for the surviving populations. Despite being repeatedly exposed to the horrors of war and the darker aspects of human nature, she remains kind, optimistic, and believes in the goodness of people. She also enjoys baking pastries in her personal time. Her primary motivation for entering the tournament is to use the wish granted to the victor to end the war and bring back those who have died, hoping that no one has to perish. She initially proposes that the warriors collaborate and let the winner wish everyone back to life, a suggestion that is met with skepticism by others. In terms of abilities, Misaki possesses the power to manipulate the three states of matter—solid, liquid, and gas—with ease. She can transmute substances at will, which allows her to split rocks and alter the environment to her advantage. Rather than relying on her power solely for combat, she typically uses it to de-escalate conflicts, but she is a formidable fighter when forced to engage. Notable relationships include her temporary alliance with Nezumi, the Rat, as they navigate the tournament together, and her direct confrontation with Usagi, the Rabbit, in a battle that tests her pacifist convictions. Throughout the story, Misaki's idealism is challenged by the ruthless nature of the Zodiac War, and she undergoes a development where she must reconcile her peaceful principles with the necessity of self-defense and survival. Her role as the peace-seeking warrior provides a moral counterpoint to the other competitors, highlighting the tragedy of the tournament's violence.
