Description
Duske Grayling is a goalkeeper who first appears as a key player for Seishou Gakuen, also known as Sélène College, in the Football Frontier tournament. He is notable for his calm and unwavering loyalty to his friend and team captain, Heath Moore. Duske displays a respectful and serious demeanor, often acting as a bodyguard for Heath and agreeing with his decisions without question. This devotion extends to personal requests, as he follows Heath's commands even when faced with large quantities of food he does not enjoy.

Physically, Duske is tall with pale skin and gray, expressionless eyes. His light chestnut hair is styled to stand up, with a small strand hanging on the side of his head. As the goalkeeper for Seishou Gakuen, he is a formidable presence on the field, known for helping his team qualify for the tournament finals without conceding a single goal. During matches, he has demonstrated the ability to stop powerful shots like Elliot Ember's Penguin The Crime both with and without the use of his hissatsu techniques. His primary blocking technique is Lunar Eclipse, a powerful save that forms a barrier in front of the goal.

Duske's character is deeply defined by his relationship with Heath Moore. He sees Heath as a heroic and authoritative figure, and his loyalty stems from a belief that Heath has dedicated his entire life to achieving a singular goal. This bond is tested when Regina Mulgrave reveals that Heath is suffering from a dangerous brain tumor. Duske is shocked and angered, not only by the secret but also because he was not trusted with this information by his closest friend. This moment reveals his deep care for Heath and a hidden capacity for jealousy and sadness, showing more emotional depth than his usual stoic exterior suggests.

In the final match against Raimon, Duske's abilities are pushed to their limit. After Heath is taken away on a stretcher due to his illness, Duske continues to defend the goal with determination. He is initially beaten by Basile Hardy's new technique, Fire Daruma, which overcomes his Lunar Eclipse. In the second half, he surprises everyone by debuting a new, more powerful save, Catch & Glove, successfully stopping Fire Daruma as well as Sonny Wright and Basile's Tandem Shoot. Despite this growth, he is ultimately unable to stop Adriano Donati's final shot, Fire Lemonade, which shatters Lunar Eclipse and wins the match for Raimon.

Duske's story continues in the international arc, where he is selected as one of three goalkeepers for Inazuma Japan. He is shown to be more friendly and approachable during this time, though he can still become frustrated when unable to stop a shot. His confidence wavers during the match against Uzbekistan's Eternal Dancers, as he is unable to stop Dost Gales's hissatsu, Requiem Dust, with Lunar Eclipse. His performance and morale are restored at halftime when a recovered Heath Moore arrives on the field. Inspired by his friend's return, Duske unveils another new secret technique, Artemis Ring, which successfully blocks Requiem Dust and proves his continued growth as a goalkeeper.
