Description
Hinami Fueguchi is introduced as a young ghoul child whose parents, Asaki and Ryouko Fueguchi, were both killed by ghoul investigators. Following these tragic events, she was taken in and found a new home at the Anteiku coffee shop, where she formed deep bonds with two of its kindest employees, Ken Kaneki and Touka Kirishima. In the CCG's records, she is designated as the "Daughter Ghoul" and subject number 745. Her signature accessory is a hairband decorated with four-leaf clovers, a symbol that becomes closely associated with her identity.

In her early appearances, Hinami is a shy, gentle, and timid girl with a pure heart who loves to read and is eager to learn new things. She shares a special connection with Kaneki over a love for the novels of Sen Takatsuki. However, the trauma of watching her mother die at the hands of the ruthless investigator Kureo Mado leaves lasting scars. Despite this profound loss, she is by nature a pacifist who does not seek vengeance.

As the story progresses into Tokyo Ghoul:re, Hinami matures into a calm, resilient, and beautiful young woman. The years she spent searching for a missing Kaneki after the Anteiku raid, combined with the harsh realities of ghoul society, force her to adopt a more realistic and sometimes melancholic view of the world. Her experiences, including her eventual membership in the militant Aogiri Tree organization, temper her spirit. She becomes accustomed to death and violence, yet she never loses her core compassion or her desire to protect the few people she holds dear, which now includes Touka and Ayato Kirishima.

Her primary motivation throughout much of the sequel is to locate and rescue Ken Kaneki, who has assumed the identity of Haise Sasaki. Her loyalty to him is absolute; she considers him her brother, calling him onii-chan, and refers to Touka as onee-chan. When Kaneki forms his own organization, Goat, to create a world where ghouls and humans can coexist, Hinami becomes a loyal and integral member. Her role in the story evolves from a protected child into a competent fighter and strategist, even taking on a leadership role for a time.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Hinami is her rare and potent combat ability. Unlike most one-eyed ghouls, who only inherit the Kagune of one parent, Hinami inherited both. She possesses a dual Kagune: a Koukaku Kagune from her mother, which manifests as a pair of flower-petal-like shields that sprout from her shoulder blades for defense, and a Rinkaku Kagune from her father, which emerges from her waist and forms powerful, spear-like tentacles for offense. This combination makes her a formidable Chimera-type ghoul, capable of fighting on par with some of the series' strongest characters. Complementing her physical prowess are her exceptional senses; her hearing and sense of smell are developed far beyond those of a normal ghoul, allowing her to track enemies or detect lies over great distances.
