Elysia de Lute Ima, more commonly known as Elsie, is a demon from the New Hell who serves as an agent of the Runaway Spirit Squad, an organization dedicated to capturing evil spirits that have escaped into the human world. Despite being over three hundred years old, she appears as a teenage girl with long black hair tied into a ponytail, gray eyes, a height of 159 centimeters, and a weight of 44 kilograms. Before joining the Runaway Spirit Squad, she spent three centuries working as a cleaner in Hell, a job which left her with exceptional cleaning skills that she continues to use in her daily life.
When she first arrives in the human world, Elsie crashes into the life of protagonist Keima Katsuragi, seeking his help to capture a runaway spirit inhabiting a human girl. To facilitate her mission and remain close to Keima, she adopts the cover identity of his half-sister, telling his mother that she is the illegitimate child of Keima's father.
