Description
Dante is a main character from La storia della Arcana Famiglia, serving as the Executive Head and the leader of the Intelligence Division within the organization. Prior to joining the Arcana Famiglia, Dante was a pirate who operated out of the Mediterranean Sea. He has been an acquaintance of Mondo, the head of the family, for many years and is widely considered the most reliable and dependable member of the entire organization. Physically, Dante is a notably tall man, standing at 199 centimeters, with a bald head, brown eyes, and a small, well-trimmed goatee that serves as his trademark feature. He is typically seen wearing a black suit with white stripes, an open black jacket draped over his shoulders, and often has a cigar in his mouth. His Stigmata, the mark that signifies his Arcana power, is located on his head, and he previously had medium-length brown hair before shaving his head and eyebrows.
Dante’s personality is defined by his straightforwardness and strong sense of justice; he is a man who hates anything crooked or roundabout and values order above all. Despite having a rough, seafaring edge to his demeanor, he is deeply respected by his subordinates and holds considerable influence within the family. He possesses a dry sense of humor and is known for telling dad jokes or puns, though these attempts at levity rarely amuse his audience. Beneath his serious exterior, he is a caring figure, particularly towards the younger members of the family, whom he enjoys watching over as if they were his own adorable children.
Dante’s motivations are rooted in unwavering loyalty and a desire for atonement. He is utterly devoted to Mondo, the family patriarch, and follows him with absolute loyalty, even to the point of betraying his home country to spy on the Arcana Famiglia before being taken in by Mondo. A significant part of his personal narrative involves overcoming the guilt he feels for this past betrayal. His role in the story is primarily that of a reliable leader and protector. As the head of the Intelligence Division, he frequently travels away from the family’s home island of Regalo to handle diplomatic missions and maritime affairs, though he also conducts important meetings when present. He acts as a paternal figure to the young swordsman Liberta, having rescued him from an abusive orphanage known as Casa Bianca where children were subjected to cruel experiments. During that rescue, Dante wore an ornamental mask to conceal his identity. Their shared life on the sea forged a strong bond, and Dante feels responsible for watching over Liberta’s growth until he becomes stronger, even refusing to let the boy use his own dangerous Arcana. Dante is also one of Felicita’s potential love interests. If she pursues a relationship with him, she helps him come to terms with his past guilt. He treats her with seriousness when family business is at hand, acknowledging her skills as a capable individual.
In terms of abilities, Dante possesses the Arcana of The Emperor, the fourth card of the Tarot. This power is related to brainwashing and the manipulation of memory. He can use techniques such as Atlantico Vortici to erase a target’s memories or Dare un Ordine to create a storm that swallows the opponent. When activated, his signature emits a reddish aura. Beyond his supernatural Arcana, Dante is a highly proficient weapon specialist. He is known for his expert use of a bazooka and is also a skilled swordsman. His development throughout the story involves his transition from a former spy and pirate into the most loyal and trusted executive of the Arcana Famiglia, finding a new family and purpose while carrying the burden of his past actions.
