TV-Series
Description
Kotoko Iwanaga serves as the mediator between the human and supernatural worlds, bearing the title "Goddess of Wisdom." Yokai abducted her at age eleven, holding her for two weeks. During this time, she agreed to become their goddess, a pact costing her right eye and left leg. She returned with these limbs amputated and carved out, now utilizing prosthetics—a glass eye matching her functional one and a prosthetic leg attaching at mid-thigh. Supernatural beings, including yokai and spectres, now seek her consultations to resolve disputes.

She possesses a petite, doll-like stature often mistaken for childhood. Her features include fair skin, purple eyes, and short wavy blond hair. Her typical attire consists of a white hat with a black ribbon, a white dress featuring dark blue accents, white socks, brown shoes, and a distinctive red cane. While her dresses vary after initial story arcs, the custom-made cane remains a constant, insisted upon by her family despite not being needed for mobility.

Kotoko's personality blends outgoing confidence with cunning intellect. She actively pursues solutions, leveraging yokai assistance yet remaining oblivious to danger. She exhibits clingy, attention-seeking behavior toward her boyfriend, Kuro Sakuragawa, often acting selfishly or childishly around him. A self-centered prankster with a perverse streak, she enjoys others' discomfort. Though a poor liar among peers, she manipulates yokai and online communities with precision, crafting convincing narratives for her work. This duality underpins her Goddess of Wisdom title, showcasing strategic intelligence bordering on diabolical.

Her abilities derive from her mediator role. Most yokai and spectres obey her commands, enabling tasks like spying or information gathering. She utilizes this network to solve supernatural cases, frequently employing them as witnesses. Kotoko excels in deductive reasoning, constructing multiple explanations for mysteries and adapting theories to satisfy clients like the Guardian Serpent. She masters "dueling fictions," exemplified by countering Rikka Sakuragawa's narratives to sway public perception and dispel imaginary threats. Her approach prioritizes storytelling over factual deduction, manipulating collective beliefs to reshape supernatural realities.

Kotoko met Kuro Sakuragawa at a hospital when she was fifteen, falling in love instantly. They reunited two years later following his breakup with Saki Yumihara. She displays pushy behavior toward Kuro but genuinely opposes his suffering during conflicts like the battles with Steel Lady Nanase. Initially antagonistic toward Saki, they later collaborated to resolve that case. Despite Rikka Sakuragawa initially warning Kuro about Kotoko, they subsequently formed a close bond, with Kotoko visiting Rikka in the hospital.

Additional notes confirm her extreme wealth, evidenced by a mansion staffed with servants. The characters in her name signify "rock," "eternity," "koto" (a musical instrument), and "child." She adopted the alias "kuebiko"—a Shinto knowledge deity depicted as a stationary scarecrow—during her confrontation with Rikka, reflecting her role as an immobilized yet all-aware figure. She is sexually forward with Kuro, often facing rejection.
