Description
Pierrot is one of the central protagonists of the anime Ginga Patrol PJ, serving as a young officer in the Space Police of the Omega Confederation. He is the son of Colonel Pierre, the head of the Omega Space Police, and President Pierrette, the leader of the Confederation, and this family background places him at the intersection of the story's political and military worlds. After completing his studies, he joins the Space Police and finds himself in command of a dragonfly-type vessel, a distinctive craft that plays a significant part in his missions.

In the story, Pierrot functions as the series' primary hero alongside his close companion Psi, also known as Mercedes, who is given the weight of a co-protagonist rather than a simple supporting partner. Together they take on a wide range of assignments, encountering diverse alien civilizations and facing threats from rival galactic powers. His role as a patrol officer reflects the series' general approach to conflict: the patrollers are depicted as resolving problems with intelligence and courage, mainly using non-lethal stun weapons, and Pierrot consistently operates within that spirit, working toward the peaceful coexistence of the many life forms across the galaxy.

His personality is presented through his sense of duty and his principled approach to his work. As the child of the Confederation's president and its top police officer, he carries the expectations of his family, and his motivations are closely tied to protecting the peace and stability of the Confederation and honoring the values his parents represent. He is a recurring lead whose judgment, bravery, and commitment to peaceful solutions define him as a character.

His most important relationships are with his parents and with Psi. Colonel Pierre and President Pierrette both play active roles in the wider story, so Pierrot's ties to them shape his position within the federation and give his missions a personal dimension. His partnership with Psi is the most prominent relationship in his adventures, and the two are regularly shown working together, with Psi's presence underscoring the series' egalitarian outlook.

In terms of development, Pierrot is identified at various stages of the series with the ranks of lieutenant and captain, indicating growth in seniority and responsibility as he gains experience across numerous missions. The range of challenges he confronts expands over the course of the story, and he consistently rises to them through a combination of piloting skill, resourcefulness, and courage.

His notable abilities center on his command of the dragonfly-type vessel, which requires both piloting expertise and leadership. He also makes use of the patrol's non-lethal stun technology, favoring cleverness and measured action over destructive force, in line with the series' emphasis on wisdom and courage as the true tools of a galactic peacekeeper.
