TV-Series
Description
Louis Fort Drake is a member of the Space Defense Force's Sirius Platoon and serves aboard the locomotive Big One as the only human female crew member in the platoon. She is eighteen years old at the start of the series and comes from a wealthy political background as the daughter of President Drake, the leader of the Clarious Stellar Cluster. Despite her privileged upbringing, Louis chose to enlist in the SDF Academy, where she graduated first in her unit, and was then assigned to Sirius Platoon alongside Manabu Yuuki.
Louis is headstrong and a hard worker, with a strong inclination to follow orders even when she privately disagrees with them. She frequently teases Manabu, and the two initially clash before developing a close friendship that gradually deepens into a romantic relationship by the end of the first season. Her personality is marked by a strict sense of discipline and professionalism, but beneath this exterior she is caring and capable of vulnerability. She struggles with the emotional distance of her father, who was cold and unloving toward her during her upbringing, and she disagreed with his detached, heartless style of leadership. In the episode centered on their relationship, she saves his life, leading him to recognize his mistakes.
Louis is an expert marksman and handles technical aspects of the platoon's missions. She is also highly skilled in combat and operations, proving her worth through her own merit rather than relying on her family name. Her role in the story is that of a disciplined, competent officer who grows to find a sense of belonging within Sirius Platoon. She evolves from a somewhat rigid, rule-oriented individual into someone who increasingly balances her professionalism with empathy and trust in her teammates. Her key relationships include her evolving partnership with Manabu, her respectful duty-bound relationship with Captain Schwanhelt Bulge, and the camaraderie she builds with the rest of the crew. Her development centers on reconciling her family legacy with her own identity and learning to open up emotionally.
