Laios, a human child living in a village with his parents—including his father Uls—forges a pivotal friendship with Saybil during the latter's three-month village test. He becomes Saybil's first human friend since magical training began. Displaying deep care, Laios grieves when Saybil leaves for the Forbidden Library but draws solace from his promise to return once Laios matures into a brave, confident adult.

Unaware of his parents' ingrained fear and distrust of magic practitioners, Laios explores the forest and suffers severe injuries from a rogue Remnant of Disaster. Legendary witches like the Mud-Black Witch and Dawn Witch intervene to save him. After this event, Uls joins celebrations at Mercenary's tavern for the test's successful completion by Saybil, Kudo, and Holt.

Laios treasures promises above all, especially those between close friends. His life centers on his bond with Saybil and his village experiences.
