TV-Series
Description
Nanà is a female android created by Kotaro from a discarded table lamp to serve as a helper in the household of Dr. Go and Mi. Her appearance is small and rabbit-like, with a light bulb at the tip of her tail that hints at her origins as a lighting fixture. She was built with the intention of performing domestic chores, but from the moment she was activated she showed reluctance to take on menial tasks, rebelling against Kotaro and eventually running away. During her escape she encountered Kuro, and this meeting changed the course of her existence.

Nanà possesses a gentle and affectionate personality, but this is layered with a deep-seated loneliness and insecurity. She was abandoned while still inside the box of the lamp from which she was made, never having been used to brighten a room. This rejection left her with a profound fear of being unwanted or useless, and she becomes extremely sensitive when she feels she is not needed. When she thinks she has failed or is being discarded, she can become emotionally volatile and even self-destructive. Despite this fragility, she is also resilient and determined, particularly when it comes to Kuro.

Her primary motivation is to be loved and accepted, and she fixates on Kuro as the object of her affection after he helps her during her initial flight from Kotaro. She pursues him relentlessly, claiming to be his girlfriend or future wife, and makes numerous attempts to win his heart. Although Kuro consistently denies her romantic advances and finds her clinginess annoying, he does not truly reject her as a person. Over time, she begins to understand that his feelings, while not romantic, include genuine care for her, and she gradually accepts the situation without bitterness.

In the story, Nanà serves as the main heroine and a recurring source of emotional warmth and comic relief. She is not a frontline combatant like Kuro or Mi, but she contributes to the group through her resourcefulness and the various household tools and abilities built into her android body. Unlike the cyborg cats who are built for combat, Nanà is equipped for domestic utility. She is highly skilled at knitting and frequently makes scarves and other items for Kuro as tokens of her affection. Her body can transform to some extent, allowing her to adapt to different tasks.

Her key relationships are with Kotaro, who acts as her creator and a fatherly figure, and with Kuro, who is the center of her emotional world. She also maintains friendly relations with Dr. Go, Mi, and the rest of the cast, and she is generally well-intentioned toward everyone. Her development across the series focuses on her journey from a simple machine built for labor into a character with deep emotional capacity and a degree of independence. She learns to cope with unreciprocated love and grows more confident in her own identity, moving beyond the fear of being a discarded object. Her arc illustrates a growing sense of personhood and the ability to care for others without requiring the same in return.
