Description
Mrs. Djuvara is an elderly resident of the village of Lupu and a patient of Lisa Tepes, the wife of Vlad Dracula. As someone who received effective medicine from Lisa for an illness, she felt a deep sense of gratitude toward the doctor. When the Church accused Lisa of witchcraft and burned her at the stake, Mrs. Djuvara was one of the few people who did not celebrate her death. She openly expressed that she would not take joy in the woman being killed and chose to remember her instead.

Her primary role in the story occurs shortly after Lisa's execution, when she visits the remains of Lisa's burned house to pay her respects. There, she encounters Dracula, who has just returned from a long journey and is unaware of what has happened to his wife. Mrs. Djuvara, showing no fear despite his imposing presence, informs him of the Church's actions and Lisa's fate. This interaction is pivotal, as it provides Dracula with the full truth of the tragedy.

In this moment, Mrs. Djuvara demonstrates quiet courage and moral integrity. While many of her fellow villagers appear to support the Church's persecution of Lisa, she stands apart by honoring the memory of someone who helped her. Because of her kindness and her truthful account, Dracula spares her life. He then suggests that she leave Wallachia with her family. Her development ends here, as it is implied that she heeded this warning, as she is not seen during the subsequent attacks on the region a year later. She has no notable supernatural abilities, as she is an ordinary human villager. Her key relationships are limited to her brief but significant encounters with Lisa Tepes as a grateful patient, and with Dracula as the bearer of devastating news.
