Description
Hakuya Kwonmin holds the position of Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Friedonia. His consistent attire of black robes, complementing his pale, slender frame, unkempt shoulder-length black hair, and cold demeanor earned him the title "Black-robed Prime Minister." Initially uninterested in politics, he entered King Souma's Talent Search only at his uncle's urging. There, his eidetic memory, recalling every Elfrieden law, clinched his victory.

Though seeking only a librarian post for rare books, his diplomatic and negotiation skills led to his appointment as Prime Minister, replacing Marx who became chamberlain for the former king. As Souma's closest advisor, Hakuya applied his knowledge of realism and Machiavellian principles to implement policies and navigate crises. His strategic insight proved vital during the Carmine and Vargas rebellions, the Amidonia invasion, the Van occupation, and forming a secret alliance with the Gran Chaos Empire.

Beneath his emotionless exterior lies a gentler side; he finds amusement teasing Souma or sharing frustrations with Jeanne Euphoria, Maria Euphoria's sister and commander of the Empire's army. Their mutual understanding over impulsive rulers led to Hakuya accepting Maria's joking proposal that he marry Jeanne, a matter left unresolved. He mentors Tomoe Inui, later extending tutelage to Ichiha Chima and Yuriga Haan for the Royal Academy.

As Friedonia stabilized, Hakuya countered emerging threats. He appointed Souji Lester as bishop to check the Orthodox Papal State's influence, deploying intelligence agents for his protection. He anticipated military needs, dispatching water mages for the Union of Eastern Nations expedition, and spearheaded the Tripartite Medical Alliance with Turgis and the Empire. His foresight included preparations for conflict with the Nine-Headed Dragon Archipelago.

Hakuya constantly balances Souma's idealism with pragmatic governance. During Van's reconstruction, he advocated functional military-city designs over Souma's artistic visions, stressing frontline defense necessities. He similarly anticipated Amidonia destroying Friedonia-built bridges for "prestige," advising contingency plans to exploit such actions. Despite noble marriage proposals, he maintains no personal interest in matrimony, prioritizing state affairs.
