Description
Tomoya Okazaki appears in the crossover series Kaginado alongside characters from various Key franchises. His visual design adopts the series' simplified, chibi art style. Within Kaginado Academy, he interacts with characters from Angel Beats!, Kanon, Little Busters!, and Rewrite, participating in ensemble school activities and events.

In episode 1, he supports Nagisa Furukawa during her singing performance. Later episodes show him in family contexts, arriving with Nagisa to pick up their daughter Ushio Okazaki from a planetarium show hosted by Yumemi Hoshino, reinforcing his role as a husband and father.

His interactions involve lighthearted or absurd scenarios, like a soccer club competition using exaggerated abilities. While his original personality traits—such as deadpan snarking or protectiveness—may surface briefly, they are adapted to fit Kaginado's communal humor rather than character drama. He observes chaotic events like school elections and summer trips without direct conflict resolution.

The series repurposes emotional beats from Clannad for comedic effect, such as Ushio’s request to visit a flower field, presented without deeper consequence. Tomoya remains peripheral in overarching Kaginado plots like Yuri Nakamura’s attempts to uncover the world’s god, serving primarily as a familiar presence.

Kaginado avoids exploring his backstory, instead using his established relationships with Nagisa and Ushio as shorthand for familial warmth in group scenes. His portrayal consistently aligns with the series’ goal of celebrating Key’s characters through irreverent parody and crossover interactions, diverging from original storylines to prioritize shared gags and nostalgic cameos.
