Description
Diane is one of the main characters of the story and a powerful member of the warrior race known as the Giant Clan. She bears the title of the Serpent's Sin of Envy, marked by a serpent tattoo on her left thigh. Approximately 750 years old, which is equivalent to a human teenager, Diane stands at an incredible 915 centimeters (about 30 feet) in her natural form, though she can use magic to shrink down to 165 centimeters. Her long hair is typically styled in pigtails, and she often hides her face behind it when overcome with shyness or embarrassment. Despite her towering stature and immense strength, Diane has a gentle and warm heart. She dislikes pointless conflict, a trait that set her apart from her fellow giants from a young age, and she carries a complex about her enormous size, often wishing she could be small enough to live among humans without attracting attention. She is also known to have a pronounced fear of insects.

Diane's personal history is marked by loss and manipulation of her memories. Approximately 700 years before the main events, she left her home village of Megadozer, refusing to follow her clan's battle-focused ethos. During this time, she met and befriended King, the Fairy King, and the two lived together for about 500 years, developing deep feelings for one another. However, King was forced to erase her memories of their time together when they parted ways, leaving her with no recollection of their bond. Returning to her clan, she was taken under the wing of Matrona, a formidable giantess who served as her mentor. Diane holds Matrona in the highest regard, as she taught her to fight and survive in a harsh world. Her life took a tragic turn when a group of Holy Knights from Liones hired her and Matrona for a mission only to betray them, poisoning Matrona in an attempt to claim glory for defeating the "rebellious giants". As Matrona lay dying, she killed many of the knights, but the survivors framed Diane for the massacre, accusing her of poisoning her mentor out of envy and slaughtering the soldiers. Just as she was about to be executed for this crime she did not commit, Diane was taken into custody by Meliodas, who would later recruit her into the Seven Deadly Sins.

In personality, Diane is cheerful and straightforward yet emotionally sensitive. Her sin of Envy does not manifest as malice but as a deep-seated desire for belonging, connection, and the memories she has lost. She is kind to non-combatants and children, often going out of her way to help others, and she feels genuine remorse for any collateral damage her abilities might cause. Despite being one of the physically strongest characters, her compassionate nature sometimes holds her back from being completely ruthless in battle. Initially, she developed romantic feelings for Meliodas, who had saved her life, leading to jealousy toward Elizabeth Liones. However, she eventually overcame this jealousy, forming a close friendship with Elizabeth and swearing to protect her.

Her primary motivation throughout the story is the recovery of her lost memories and the search for a place where she truly belongs. As she regains fragments of her past, she rekindles her relationship with King, and her feelings for him deepen into a loving partnership. In her role within the Seven Deadly Sins, Diane serves as the group's physical bulwark and powerhouse. Her immense strength allows her to take on enemies that would be impossible for ordinary humans to defeat, and her defensive abilities make her ideal for protecting her more vulnerable comrades.

Diane's notable abilities are tied to her magic called Creation, which allows her to manipulate the earth and terrain at will. She can raise defensive walls, create pillars of rock, and shape the battlefield to her advantage. Her power is magnified significantly by her Sacred Treasure, a massive war hammer named Gideon that weighs nearly a thousand kilograms. When wielding Gideon, Diane's control over the earth is amplified immensely, allowing her to devastate entire landscapes and even redirect magical attacks aimed at her using a technique called Lightning Rod. She also has the ability to temporarily harden her body to increase her defense. As she grows and learns more about her heritage, she masters the "Dance of Drole," a special technique from a legendary Giant King that dramatically increases her power level, demonstrating her growth from a conflicted exile into a powerful and confident warrior and leader.

Throughout the story, Diane undergoes significant development, moving from a lonely giant plagued by self-doubt to a self-assured individual who embraces her identity and heritage. She ultimately accepts her role not just as a member of the Seven Deadly Sins, but as the Queen of the Giant Clan, forging a new future for her people alongside her partner King.
