Description
Lala is a Dullahan, a type of headless spectral being, and the seventh monster girl to join the household of Kimihito Kurusu. She first appears in the story claiming that she has come only to warn Kimihito of his impending death, and she initially denies being the second "D" (a reference to the Dullahan classification). Her appearance is striking: she has pale blue skin, white hair that reaches down her back, and a prominent ahoge shaped like a scythe that stands up from her head; notably, this strand of hair is absent when she appears in scenes set in the afterlife. Standing 158 cm tall with a birthday of December 25, she has the physical traits of a young woman.

Personality-wise, Lala is a blend of dramatic, chuunibyou theatrics and genuine awkwardness. She often speaks in a grandiose manner about death and fate, which can unnerve the other residents and lead to comedic misunderstandings. Despite her intimidating reaper-like appearance and claims, she is actually scatterbrained, shy, and timid at her core. She has a strong desire to fit in with the Kurusu household, but her constant talk of death and her clumsy attempts at normal interaction often put her at odds with the other monster girls.

Her primary motivation is initially to warn Kimihito, but after a series of comedic mishaps, she becomes a permanent resident. She promises to stop causing disturbances and tries her best to adapt to daily life, though her social awkwardness and morbid obsessions remain a source of friction. In the story, she serves as both a source of supernatural mystery and comic relief, her presence often triggering chaotic situations that the other girls must resolve.

Lala's key relationships are with Kimihito, whom she views as a target of her warnings but gradually comes to see as a friend and host, and with the other monster girls, who are initially suspicious of her death-related talk but eventually accept her as part of the household. Her development revolves around learning to integrate into the group, softening her grim persona, and overcoming her shyness. Notable abilities include her Dullahan nature: she can detach her head, appear in the afterlife, and carries an otherworldly aura tied to death, though these powers are often played for humor rather than drama.
