TV-Series
Description
Fei Long is the master and owner of a Chinese restaurant in Russell City, having long since retired from active duty as a Makai Alchemist. Despite his retirement, he remains deeply connected to the world of Makai affairs and provides crucial support to those who continue to fight against Horrors. In his younger days, he was the partner of the previous Golden Knight, the wearer of the Garo armor, indicating a history of direct frontline experience against monstrous threats.
Fei Long possesses a calm and reserved personality that comes with age and experience. Although his years and status would ordinarily demand a certain level of respect and formality from others, he maintains a casual friendship with the current protagonist, Sword. He tends to stay in the background of his restaurant's daily operations, allowing his granddaughter, Meifang, to manage the front-of-house activities while he observes. This relaxed demeanor belies his continued vigilance and his role as an overseer of the Makai Knights and Alchemists who are still on active duty.
His primary motivation is to support the fight against Horrors from behind the scenes. He uses his restaurant as a base of operations for the city's defenders, with Sword preparing breakfast for the staff each morning as part of their routine. Fei Long has also trained his restaurant staff to some degree in the Makai arts, turning his place of business into a safe haven staffed by capable allies. In the story, he functions as a key informational and logistical supporter, backing up Horror slayers and providing them with essential tools for their mission.
Fei Long's most significant relationship is with Sword, built on a foundation of mutual respect disguised by their informal interactions. He is also the grandfather of Meifang, the restaurant's waitress, and maintains a close family bond with her, even as he entrusts her with considerable responsibility. As a retired alchemist, he has developed a particular set of notable abilities that remain sharp despite his years. He is a highly skillful Makai Alchemist who has mastered various magical arts and alchemical techniques from both Western and Eastern traditions. He also possesses specialized equipment, including a Horror detector fashioned as an antique turtle-shaped necklace that moves and rings in the presence of malevolence, and he keeps numerous boxes of Madō Bagua Tags, which are used to ward off or combat Horrors.
