Description
Jetstorm is an Autobot Mini-Con and one of two students under the tutelage of the samurai-like Autobot, Drift. His partner and fellow student is Slipstream, and together they form a pair of warriors trained in Drift's disciplined fighting style.

Before becoming Drift's students, Jetstorm and Slipstream lived as petty criminals until the Autobot saved them and changed the course of their lives. Of the two Mini-Cons, Jetstorm is the more impulsive and prone to acting without thinking. He often commits acts of inappropriate behavior, such as speaking without permission, which creates friction with the exacting perfectionist Drift. When Jetstorm realizes he has made a mistake, his haste to correct the offense sometimes makes the situation worse, as he tends to blow the original problem out of proportion in his own mind.

Despite these behavioral challenges, Drift's training has made Jetstorm a tough and capable fighter. He is bright and creative, often coming up with effective battle strategies that his master would never have considered. His primary weapon is a pair of nunchucks, which he wields with considerable skill. Jetstorm is eager to prove his capabilities and skills to his master, and he is known to celebrate enthusiastically when his team achieves a victory, often sharing a high-five with his partner Slipstream.

Jetstorm has a close but sometimes strained relationship with his master, Drift. His fear of disappointing Drift is so great that on one occasion, after accidentally polishing Drift's sword incorrectly, Jetstorm fled Cybertron in an escape pod rather than face his master's wrath. Arriving on Earth, he initially intended to become the student of a human boy named Russell Clay. However, when Drift and Slipstream came searching for him, Jetstorm conceded that he would be more useful in the fight if he remained teamed with them. Russell continued to advocate for Jetstorm, and following a battle, Drift decided he and his wards would stay with Bumblebee's team on Earth to learn cooperation.

The dynamic between Jetstorm and Slipstream is defined by their contrasting personalities. While Jetstorm is impulsive and excitable, Slipstream is the calmer of the two, preferring to follow Drift's lead on and off the battlefield. Nevertheless, the two share good synergy in combat and are not above celebrating together after a fight. Jetstorm also develops a rapport with the human Russell, who often sticks up for him, and with the other Autobots on Bumblebee's team, including Sideswipe, with whom he sometimes shares misadventures.

Throughout the series, Jetstorm's role in the story is that of a student learning discipline, teamwork, and self-control. He and Slipstream accompany Drift on missions to capture Decepticons, often being deployed from their master's arms to engage enemies directly. They play instrumental roles in several operations, such as hijacking a bounty hunter's ship to free captured Autobots, determining which Drift was the real one when facing a shapeshifting Decepticon, and being hurled by Grimlock at a fleeing enemy. Over time, Jetstorm demonstrates significant growth in his teamwork and judgment. On one occasion, after he and Slipstream disregarded an order to link back up with Drift, their master sustained an injury. The guilty pair ended up trapped in an armory with Sideswipe, where they realized they were able to link up with the Autobot, and together they aided the rest of the team. Following this incident, Drift declared that the two Mini-Cons' training was complete, though they insisted on remaining his students.
