Description
Maaa, an anomalous fairy-like being, originates from Iruburu Village’s accumulated signals and residual Value rather than human transformation. Named for her repetitive vocalization adopted by Riko after their meeting, her form blends whimsy and grotesquery: a rounded, pink sheet-like body with a fluffy surface, tentacular arms, a bisected mouth housing a central tooth, and a strikingly soiled, hyper-realistic posterior exuding an odor akin to dried waste.

Her clash with Riko’s group begins accidentally when she crushes Meinya, prompting Iruburu’s Balancing ritual. Stripped of treasured dolls, partially skinned, and deprived of limbs, Maaa shifts from aggressor to ally, leveraging her regenerative resilience—though regrown fur darkens—to save Riko from villagers and guide the group.

Born as a cellular fragment of the village’s collective consciousness, Maaa thrives on communal Value, mirroring Iruburu’s interdependence. Her bond with Riko intensifies through protective acts, culminating in shielding her from a Fuzosheppu at personal cost. During the village’s collapse, she embraces a makeshift doll from Riko, cradling Meinya and Riko as her body disintegrates amid rubble.

Driven by childlike curiosity, affection for plush toys, and unspoken loyalty, Maaa communicates through guttural sounds and decisive actions. Her arc traces an inadvertent foe’s metamorphosis into a selfless guardian, her demise underscoring devotion as she prioritizes others’ survival over her ephemeral existence.
