Description
Hajime Tenga is one of the main characters chosen to participate in the Kizuna System experiment, designated as D-2 when his pain is transmitted through the connection. He is a student at Sugomori High School, belonging to Class 2-A. With tall and muscular build, spiky pink hair, hazel eyes, and lime green eyeglasses, his appearance reinforces his reputation as an intimidating delinquent and earns him the nickname "Mad Dog". Despite this fearsome exterior, his street style is loud and adventurous, favoring tank tops and bright colors, and his signature accessory is a white beaded bracelet.

Representing the modern-day sin of the "Musclehead Thug," Tenga appears as an unpredictable and hot-headed individual who often acts on impulse. He is incredibly energetic and physically strong, frequently charging headfirst into situations without extensive forethought. However, beneath his brash and intimidating facade lies a genuine, deep-seated desire to help and protect others. Contrary to his muscle-bound image, he displays sharp observational skills and practical intelligence, easily able to discern the root of emotionally complex problems where others cannot, such as deducing the cause of another character's cold demeanor. He is known to be perverse and immature at times, making crude jokes or inappropriate advances, which often result in consequences shared by the entire group through their连接的 wounds. While typically thoughtful, strong negative emotions like jealousy can drive him to selfishness and extreme violence, though he eventually comes to terms with his misguided actions. He holds a deep-seated fear of dogs, a vulnerability he has worked hard to conceal from others as his deepest secret.

Throughout the story, Tenga acts as a key motivating force within the group, his spontaneous and energetic nature often pushing events forward during moments of indecision. He initially takes on a protective role toward a fellow Kiznaiver named Katsuhira Agata, even moving into his apartment to shield him from bullies, as the shared pain system means any harm to Katsuhira would also hurt him. His primary personal motivation evolves from being a protector to becoming a "wingman" for his childhood friend Chidori Takashiro, actively attempting to foster a romantic relationship between her and Katsuhira. Unbeknownst to himself initially, this desire to help stems from his own developing romantic feelings for Chidori, creating significant internal conflict.

Tenga shares a complex brotherly bond with Katsuhira, beginning as a protector and later becoming jealous and confrontational when his romantic efforts are unrequited, though he ultimately reaffirms his care for him. His relationship with Chidori is central to his development, as he suppresses his own feelings to support hers, only to have his frustrations exposed through the Kizuna System, leading to a direct confrontation where he seeks emotional closure. With Tsuguhito Yuta, Tenga attempts friendship but is often brushed off, leading to teasing about Yuta's past insecurities, yet he also displays genuine concern and ultimately earns mutual respect. He is surprisingly perceptive about Honoka Maki, correctly identifying her emotional trauma and fiercely defending her, earning him her quiet respect. He views Nico Niiyama as quirky and chaotic, displaying protective older-brother behavior while remaining oblivious to her romantic feelings toward him, a fact he only learns when it is publicly revealed.

Tengas development is defined by a struggle to balance raw emotion with responsibility, shifting from pure impulsiveness toward a deeper understanding of connection, pain, and accountability. He learns that his actions have consequences not only for himself but for everyone he is connected to, ultimately learning to acknowledge his own vulnerabilities and the feelings of others rather than simply reacting with his fists. His notable abilities include immense physical strength, capable of overpowering multiple opponents with a single blow, and an intuitive, deductive mind that allows him to analyze situations and people effectively, making him one of the most emotionally perceptive members of the group despite his rough exterior.
