Description
Belkia is a vampire who serves as a direct subordinate, or subclass, of the powerful vampire Tsubaki. Beyond this master-servant dynamic, Belkia is also regarded as one of Tsubaki's closest and most trusted friends, sharing a bond that goes deeper than simple obligation. He first appears as an early antagonist, confronting the main protagonist Mahiru Shirota and his Servamp partner Kuro, establishing himself as a memorable member of Tsubaki's faction.
In terms of appearance, Belkia is a rather eccentric and flamboyant figure. He has long, pink hair that he typically ties back in a ponytail and sports a pair of matching pink glasses. His attire consists of a white suit complemented by a white top hat, giving him the overall look of a street performer or magician. Like other members of Tsubaki's subclass, he wears a distinctive black band around his neck. One of his more unique traits is his ability to transform into a small, doll-like version of himself. In this form, he retains his typical attire and, similar to how the Servamps can transform into animals, he remains fully capable of speech.
Belkia's personality is as extravagant as his appearance. He is extremely over-the-top, vain, and thrives on attention, becoming easily angered or distraught when ignored. His behavior is often comedic, and he tends to overreact dramatically to most situations. This theatrical nature is a core part of his identity, and he often acts like a showman, though his performances frequently devolve into acts of violence. A key aspect of his character is his intense vanity, which can lead to jealous and aggressive outbursts. For instance, he once attacked the Servamp known as All of Love, or Lily, solely because he felt Lily possessed a beauty that surpassed his own, even going so far as to cut off Lily's hair.
As a subclass, Belkia's primary motivation is his deep-seated loyalty to Tsubaki. He is a devoted follower who enjoys teasing other members of their group, such as Sakuya, alongside Tsubaki. His actions are almost always in service of Tsubaki's larger goals, and he willingly takes part in plans to harass and attack their enemies, including Kuro and his allies. His relationship with his fellow subclass member Otogiri is marked by a playful, if one-sided, nickname; he enjoys calling her "Girioto," a reversal of her name.
Regarding his combat abilities, Belkia's primary weapon is his seemingly magical top hat. He has the power to summon an endless number of long swords from within the hat, providing him with a limitless supply of weaponry in a fight. This ability allows him to maintain a relentless offense, as he can simply produce a new sword whenever one is broken or lost. His transformation into a small doll is another notable ability, which he can use presumably for stealth, mobility, or as a defensive measure. While his past before becoming a vampire is largely unexplored, it is known that he was originally a human before being turned. His character shows a minor development in appearance after a significant battle with Lily, following which he cuts his long hair short.
