TV-Series
Description
Mū Alexius is a half-blood Fanalis and the former leader of the Reim Empire’s Fanalis Corps. He comes from the noble Alexius family and, although he looks like a typical Fanalis, his mixed heritage means his physical abilities are slightly below those of a pure-blooded member of that warrior race. Despite this, he is widely regarded as the strongest swordsman in the Reim Empire. He is a dungeon capturer, having conquered the eighth dungeon and obtained the djinn Barbatos, making him one of Scheherazade’s king vessels.

In terms of personality, Mū is cheerful and sociable, presenting himself as a perfect nobleman in high society. He enjoys attending balls and prefers the company of older women. As a leader, he is strict with his subordinates yet approachable, and he commands deep loyalty from the members of the Fanalis Corps. His greatest driving force is an absolute, lifelong devotion to Scheherazade, the aging magi of Reim. He has served her since childhood and considers being her sword his highest purpose. This loyalty extends beyond her death, as he later transfers it to her successor, Titus Alexius.

Mū’s motivation to free Fanalis slaves and build the Fanalis Corps stems in part from a unique experience: through the magi Yunan’s magic, he once crossed the Great Rift and saw the Fanalis homeland. The revelation of his people’s true nature shook him and likely spurred his mission to rescue and unite his scattered brethren. He used his family’s influence to liberate Fanalis from slavery around the world, offering them a place of honor within the Reim military.

His role in the story is that of a powerful military commander and loyal guardian of Reim. He interacts closely with Scheherazade and later with Alibaba, whom he evaluates as a potential ally. He also has a sister, Myron Alexius, who serves in the Fanalis Corps. Mū’s development is marked by his unwavering commitment to his cause and his eventual acceptance of new leadership after Scheherazade’s passing.

Mū’s key ability comes from his djinn, Barbatos, which specializes in close-quarters combat. In his normal state, he can fire shockwaves from his sword. When he performs Djinn Equip, his blade transforms into a three-pronged spear-sword, and his lower body becomes bestial, granting him incredible speed for piercing attacks. His ultimate technique, a massive sword strike, is devastating but leaves him completely drained. Because Fanalis have low magoi reserves, his Djinn Equip is limited to about one minute, making him a short-burst powerhouse vulnerable to prolonged engagements. Despite this limitation, his combination of Fanalis physiology and metal vessel strength places him among the top warriors in the series.
