Description
The world's greatest professional killer, operating under the alias Allen Smith, was betrayed and eliminated by his organization near the end of his life while on a plane, despite expecting retirement. After death, he encountered a goddess who offered reincarnation into a world of swords and sorcery in exchange for assassinating that world's prophesied Hero, destined to destroy it after defeating the Demon Lord.

He accepted and was reborn as Lugh Tuatha Dé, second son of the aristocratic Tuatha Dé family, retaining all memories and skills. His family served as royal assassins disguised as renowned physicians, possessing hereditary Mystic Eyes granting farsight, night vision, and the ability to see magic. Rigorously trained by his father Cian in medicine, magic, and assassination from early childhood, Lugh merged his Earthly expertise with this world's magic. He deciphered the Language of Magic to forge unprecedented original spells and developed advanced weaponry like firearms, explosives, and orbital kinetic projectiles such as Gungnir.

Initially viewing relationships transactionally, Lugh rescued and recruited key individuals: his cousin Dia Viekone, a powerful mage saved during a civil war who became his magic instructor and fiancée; Tarte, an orphan saved from wolves trained as his combat attendant and spearmaiden; and Maha, a merchant's daughter orphaned by treachery, rescued from traffickers to become his logistical expert and CEO of his cosmetics brand, Orna, doubling as an intelligence network. Despite initially considering them tools, Lugh developed genuine affection, eventually accepting all three as fiancées. He formed a complex bond with **Epona**, the Hero he was tasked to kill. Discovering her as a pacifist raised in poverty and registered as male to hide her identity, he shifted his approach from assassination to guiding her away from the destructive prophecy.

His methodology emphasized meticulous preparation, science-based magic enhancements, and exploiting vulnerabilities, exemplified by slaying the drug-trafficking Count Venkaur via long-range sniper fire during a nightly ritual and eliminating the warrior Setanta by combining a staged duel with a precision kinetic strike. He operated under the alias Illig Balor as a merchant in Milteu, using businesses for funding and intelligence.

The goddess later revealed she manipulated fate to ensure Lugh's encounters with Dia, Tarte, and Maha, increasing his mission's success odds; without intervention, Maha would have died. This underscored the intertwined nature of his connections and mission.

Lugh evolved from a detached instrument of death into someone valuing his newfound life and relationships. He swore to live for himself while balancing the goddess's mission, leveraging his unparalleled assassination skills, innovative magic, and strategic intellect to prevent the world's destruction—whether by fulfilling his contract or altering Epona's fate.
