Description
Chōjūrō appears in Boruto: Naruto the Movie as the Sixth Mizukage, the leader of the Hidden Mist Village. His background is rooted in his service as a loyal bodyguard to the Fifth Mizukage, Mei Terumī, during the events of the previous Naruto shippuden series. He is one of the surviving members of the legendary Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and is the third known wielder of the dual swords Hiramekarei, a massive blade capable of releasing raw chakra for powerful attacks.

In personality, Chōjūrō was once known for being shy, timid, and lacking in self-confidence during his youth. However, by the time of the events in Boruto: Naruto the Movie, he has matured significantly into a more serious, cautious, and capable leader. He has grown a beard on his chin, which gives him a more distinguished appearance befitting his rank as a Kage, though he still retains his characteristic black-framed glasses and saw-toothed teeth. His motivation in the film is primarily to fulfill his duties as a Kage, representing the interests of the Hidden Mist Village and maintaining the fragile peace established after the Fourth Great Ninja War.

Within the story of Boruto: Naruto the Movie, Chōjūrō travels to the Hidden Leaf Village at the invitation of the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki, to observe the new Chunin Exams alongside the other four Kage. His role in the film is largely supportive but becomes critical during the climax. When the powerful Otsutsuki clan members Momoshiki and Kinshiki attack the exam arena to capture Naruto, Chōjūrō joins the defensive effort. He fights alongside Gaara, the Fifth Kazekage, to protect the village and stall the invaders.

Chōjūrō maintains key relationships with the other world leaders. He is a peer and ally to Naruto Uzumaki, Gaara, Kurotsuchi, and Darui, representing the new generation of Kage. After Naruto is captured and taken to another dimension, Chōjūrō demonstrates his resolve by joining the rescue party. He enters the alternate dimension through Sasuke Uchiha's Rinnegan portal to help save the Seventh Hokage.

Regarding his development, the movie showcases his transition from a hesitant support character in the original series to a decisive leader. His experience confronting divine beings like the Otsutsuki clan reinforces his growth, as he does not hesitate to fight against enemies far stronger than any he faced in the past. His actions prove that he is worthy of the title of Kage, effectively using his skills and weaponry in coordination with the other Kage.

Chōjūrō possesses a variety of notable abilities. As a Kage, he has immense chakra reserves and is highly proficient in Water Release ninjutsu. He can perform techniques such as the Water Release Great Waterfall Technique and the Water Release Water Fang Blade. His primary weapon, the twin sword Hiramekarei, is unique among the Seven Ninja Swords because it can be used for both close combat and long-range attacks. By releasing the chakra stored within the blade, he can create massive hammer-like constructs or fire projectile spikes. A specific technique he uses is the Blood Mist Sword Style Bone Extraction, which fires several light spikes to pierce enemy joints and render them immobile.
