Description
Aoi Kimidori is a resident of Penguin Village and the older sister of the more rambunctious Akane Kimidori. Her first name, Aoi, can refer to the color blue or the violet flower, while her family name, Kimidori, means yellow-green, continuing a color-based naming theme among her family members. She is the daughter of Kon and Murasaki Kimidori.

Aoi is known for her gentle, polite, and well-behaved nature, which stands in stark contrast to her younger sister Akane’s rebellious and mischievous personality. She is a calm and responsible young woman, often seen working diligently and interacting with others in a friendly manner.

Her primary role in the story is as the manager and waitress of the local coffee shop in Penguin Village, a popular establishment called the Coffee Pot. This location serves as a common meeting place for many of the village's residents. She is often seen wearing a green shirt and a white apron with the word Pot on it.

Aoi is one of the first people in the village to be introduced to the android Arale Norimaki. She appears to be a good friend of the inventor Senbei Norimaki, despite often getting his last name wrong. On one occasion, she convinced him to take her to the movies while Arale was at school. In another instance, Senbei attempted to use his newly invented See-Thru Glasses to look at her, but was foiled when a cat sat on her lap.

Despite her otherwise responsible demeanor, Aoi possesses a notable flaw: she is a terrible driver. Her complete lack of skill behind the wheel is highlighted in a story focused on her driving, where she causes a series of accidents, leading others to refuse to ride in a car with her. She also has a somewhat clumsy side, as demonstrated when a thread from her dress became caught on a passing car, causing her clothes to unravel in front of another character, much to her embarrassment.

While Aoi is primarily a character in Dr. Slump, she makes minor appearances in the related series Dragon Ball. She can be seen working behind the counter at the Coffee Pot when the young hero Goku passes through Penguin Village. She has no notable superhuman abilities or combat skills, as her significance comes from her role as a friendly, everyday presence in the community of Penguin Village. Her character remains largely consistent throughout the series, serving as a kind and stable figure among the village's more eccentric inhabitants.
