Description
Mamoru Kodai is the older brother of Susumu Kodai and a decorated officer in the Earth Defense Force. Before the events of Space Battleship Yamato: The New Voyage, he served as the captain of the destroyer Yukikaze. During the Battle of Pluto against the Gamilas Empire, he sacrificed his ship to cover the retreat of the flagship Kirishima and was presumed dead. In reality, he survived and was rescued by Queen Starsha of the planet Iscandar, where he recovered from severe injuries. He fell in love with Starsha and chose to remain on Iscandar with her, marrying her and fathering a daughter named Sasha.
