Description
Masamune Kadoya is a major character in the Metal Saga, first appearing as the deuteragonist of Beyblade: Metal Masters. He hails from a small village in Japan and becomes a proud former member of Team Gan Gan Galaxy during the Beyblade World Championships. His background includes training under a mentor named Toby, and he eventually reunites with Toby and Zeo Abyss later in the story. Masamune is characterized by a talkative, persistent, and impulsive nature. He is extremely energetic, loud, and emotional, often acting before thinking and rushing head‑first into situations. Despite his boastful demeanor, he possesses a strong determination and an unyielding will to improve, never backing down from a challenge. His primary motivation is to become the best blader in the world, and he initially sets his sights on defeating Gingka Hagane, repeatedly challenging him and losing nearly every time. This rivalry evolves into a deep friendship, and the two, alongside Yuu and Tsubasa, represent Japan in the Big Bang Bladers tournament. Masamune's role in the story is that of a persistent rival‑turned‑ally who brings energy and comic relief, yet also demonstrates genuine growth. His key relationships include a close bond with Gingka, a friendly dynamic with Yuu and Kenta, and a mentor‑student connection with Toby. Over the course of the series, Masamune develops from a hot‑headed challenger who could not even participate in the Battle Bladers tournament into a reliable team member who, despite his ego, learns to work with others and harness his abilities more effectively. In battle, Masamune wields the beyblade Ray Striker, later upgraded to Blitz Striker. His signature ability involves his bey transforming into rays of green light and reappearing elsewhere in the stadium, giving it a teleportation‑like effect. He is known for his relentless fighting spirit and his insistence on pushing his limits through constant practice and competition.
