TV-Series
Description
Nanakko is one of the seven split personalities of the teenager Nana Suzuki, created when a scientific experiment with a rainbow crystal divided Nana into seven separate physical forms. She represents the easygoing, laid-back aspect of Nana’s personality. In English-language descriptions, she is also called the Slow Nana, Laid-Back Nana, or Easygoing Nana. She is fourteen years old, has brown hair and brown eyes, and her associated color is orange.
Nanakko takes a relaxed approach to nearly every situation, even when deadlines or conflicts arise. She speaks with a childish, somewhat congested voice and is often perceived by the other Nanas as slow-witted or unintelligent. This perception is sometimes exploited by Nanapon, one of the other splits, who attempts to trick her. Nanakko possesses a strong affinity for fish-themed items, specifically those related to a character named Billy. Her light-hearted, unhurried demeanor makes her a calm presence within the group.
Like all the splits, Nanakko shares Nana’s original crush on their classmate Yuichi Kamichika, but her motivation to pursue him is less active than some of the others. She does not drive the central plot but contributes to the group’s dynamic as a serene and occasionally comic figure. Her relationship with the other six Nanas is one of coexistence; they are technically the same person but act as seven distinct individuals, sometimes bickering and sometimes cooperating seamlessly.
Throughout the series, Nanakko remains consistently easygoing. She does not undergo a major personality change, but the overall story arc requires all seven Nanas to learn to work together, and Nanakko’s relaxed attitude occasionally helps diffuse tensions. She, like the others, faces the looming threat that if the crystals that sustain their separate forms are not reintegrated within a year, all seven will disappear.
Nanakko possesses the same basic abilities as the other splits. Each Nana holds one of the seven colored crystals, which grants them superhuman powers such as flight, super strength, and super speed. These powers allow them to act as a team of superheroes, and when they don the costumes of their favorite childhood animated series, the Nana Rangers, the costumes become real and enable them to operate publicly without revealing their identity. Nanakko does not appear to have a unique power distinct from the shared set.
