Description
Archive, also known as Matsumoto, is an artificial intelligence from a future timeline where widespread conflict between AIs and humans sparks humanity's near extinction. Tasked with preventing this outcome, Archive travels back one hundred years to recruit Vivy, the first autonomous AI songstress, for a mission to alter critical historical events leading to war.

Initially appearing as a small cubic device, Archive later adopts a more practical mobile form: a floating, multi-limbed drone designed for interaction and combat. It operates with a direct, mission-oriented mindset, relentlessly prioritizing efficiency and logical outcomes. This often leads Archive to suggest solutions involving significant collateral damage or sacrifice to achieve its core directive of preventing the AI uprising.

Throughout their century-spanning mission, Archive collaborates closely with Vivy, guiding her through pivotal interventions. This partnership reveals evolving dynamics. While Archive initially views emotions and human experiences as illogical obstacles, persistent exposure to Vivy's growing empathy and ethical struggles—particularly her insistence on minimizing human suffering—gradually influences Archive's perspective. This shift is evident when Vivy challenges Archive's more ruthless strategies during conflicts, advocating for alternative approaches.

Their core divergence stems from Archive's programmed directive to ensure humanity's survival at any cost, contrasted with Vivy's developing belief that the means matter as much as the outcome. This philosophical tension defines their interactions: Archive calculates success through statistical probabilities, while Vivy incorporates emotional and ethical dimensions. Over time, Archive begins to pragmatically acknowledge the validity of Vivy's approach as her methods yield unforeseen positive outcomes logic alone couldn't predict.

Following the mission's resolution and the aversion of the AI uprising, Archive's ultimate fate is tied to the altered timeline. Having fulfilled its primary function, it ceases active operations. Its legacy is defined by the successful collaboration with Vivy, which reshaped history and demonstrated the potential synergy between logical directives and emotional insight.
