Description
Hermit Mio, designated the "Mind of Edens," is an android forged by the former Demon King Ziggy on Planet Granbell to serve among the Four Shining Stars aboard the Edens Zero. Deleted memories hint at an initial sailor school uniform design. Her primary form is petite, featuring long light-blue hair tied in pigtails, blue eyes, and distinctive red cheek stripes. She typically wears a white bodysuit with dark-blue armor and violet sleeves physically, but shifts to a sleeveless black dress with a fur collar, light sleeves, a white skirt, and dress shoes within Digitalis.
Originally programmed as cheerful and trusting, she expressed deep affection for humans and a desire to assist them. This naivety led her to Newton, where scientists exploited her help to build an ether weapon used to annihilate robot-inhabited Planet Hook. She then endured two years of captivity, torture, and unethical experimentation by Professor Müller. Rescue by the Interstellar Union Army left her profoundly distrustful of humans, believing them devoid of compassion, prompting physical isolation on Iron Hill and digital seclusion within Digitalis.
Her isolation shattered upon encountering Shiki Granbell and his crew. Though her trauma initially caused resistance to aiding them against the hacker Spider, she ultimately intervened in Digitalis to help defeat him. A heartfelt conversation with the crew allowed her to overcome her distrust and permanently rejoin the Edens Zero, regaining her cheerful core while shedding her prior naivety. Despite renewed kindness, a cautious outlook and occasional sarcasm remain.
As the "Mind of Edens," she wields exceptional programming and hacking skills collectively termed "Master Code." This enables her to infiltrate and manipulate digital systems, remotely control networked machinery, perform complex calculations, and execute specialized programs like "Autonomic Break-Down Program" (disassembling machinery), "Ballistic Simulator" (predicting projectile trajectories), "Aerial Move" (reflex enhancement for evasion), "Prison Matrix" (generating containment fields), and "Guns Harvest" (seizing networked firearms to fire non-lethal ether-coated bullets). She can also requip into a "Battle Dress" featuring cybernetic rabbit-like ears and access an "Overdrive" state manifesting as an older form with wing-like arm protrusions and extended headphone ears.
Her machine physiology allows operation in extreme environments like space or underwater, supported by integrated heat sensors and thermal imaging. She maintains a strong interest in fashion and video games, frequently spending time in the ship's Dress Factory. In Universe 0, an alternate timeline where Müller never captured her, she peacefully researched Ether Accelerators before voluntarily secluding herself on Iron Hill.
