Description
Kirara Hoshizuki is the main human protagonist of Onegai My Melody Kirara★. She is an elementary school girl living in a town named Hoshimidai, which is known for its beautiful starry sky. Her appearance is marked by her brown eyes and amaranth purple hair, which she typically ties up with a beaded scrunchie. Her usual outfit consists of a light blue dress with elbow-length sleeves, a red spaghetti-strap top worn over it, black leggings, and hot pink sneakers.
Before the events of the story begin, Kirara is dealing with a common childhood frustration: she has been unable to confess her feelings to an older student she likes, which leaves her feeling depressed. Her life changes one night when the King of Mariland appears and invites her to his world. The King promises her the chance to see a special Wishing Star that can grant any wish, giving her hope that she might finally resolve her romantic troubles. After arriving in Mariland, Kirara meets My Melody for the first time, forming a bond that drives the entire narrative. However, on the night of the star-viewing event, disaster strikes. The Wishing Star falls and shatters into countless fragments. The collision also damages the entrance that connects Mariland to the human world, trapping Kirara in the magical land. During this incident, she also encounters Prince Sorara, the prince of the Wishing Star, who is transformed into a chick as a result of the star breaking.
