TV-Series
Description
Hime is the second royal princess and the second daughter of the king of all monsters, a member of a supernatural royal family locked in a deadly succession struggle where siblings must eliminate each other to claim the throne. Her true name is Lillianne, though she strongly dislikes being addressed by it and insists on being called simply Hime. She possesses the nature of a phoenix, and her status as a royal monster distinguishes her from the various creatures she encounters.
In appearance, Hime presents as a young aristocratic woman with long golden hair and striking scarlet eyes. She typically wears Gothic-style clothing and a tiara, befitting her royal status. Her demeanor is calm and collected, rarely showing strong emotion even in the face of extreme violence or danger. She is described as more playful than arrogant, and she does not flinch at the sight of bloodshed or destruction. Her aristocratic nature manifests in her willingness to leave hard labor to her servants without remorse, yet this same cool exterior conceals a genuine care for those who serve her.
Hime is a talented warrior capable of wielding almost any weapon with efficiency, though her physical strength is that of a normal human, which sometimes requires her servants to assist her in combat. Her weapon of choice and personal favorite is a chainsaw, which she uses with considerable skill in battle against a wide array of supernatural opponents. Despite her ordinary physical capabilities, she does not hesitate to destroy anything in her path to eliminate an enemy and can adapt to using unconventional implements as weapons. She also possesses the power to resurrect the dead, bestowing the Flame of Life upon fallen individuals to bring them back.
Hime's primary motivation stems from her position in the royal succession. Her siblings, including brothers such as Duken, Gilliam, Salieri, and Emile as well as a younger sister named Sherwood, constantly send assassins and monsters to eliminate her and move up the line of succession. The eldest sister, Sylvia, is described as a brilliant and manipulative strategist who toys with her siblings for her own amusement and advancement. One of the most significant threats comes from her relative Severin, a necromancer who in the past unleashed a zombie army upon her castle, resulting in the loss of all her blood warriors at that time. This event remains her greatest failure and a driving force behind her determination to protect her current servants no matter what. Severin is also the reason Hime despises her real name, as he gave that same name to a cat he tortured to death.
Throughout the story, Hime serves as the central figure around whom the supernatural conflicts revolve. She does not actively seek the throne but is forced to defend herself against the constant assassination attempts from her family. Her role places her at the head of a small household of loyal servants and allies, each contributing unique abilities to her cause. She does not hesitate to break rules or go against tradition when necessary to save her servants, demonstrating that her commitment to those who serve her overrides any concern for protocol.
Hime's key relationships define much of her story. Her bond with Hiro Hiyorimi begins when he pushes her out of the way of falling iron beams, dying in the process. She resurrects him as her blood warrior, granting him half-immortality as long as she lives but binding his life to hers. This establishes a master-servant relationship that, despite her cold exterior, carries genuine mutual care, with Hime aware of Hiro's romantic feelings for her. Flandre, a small android who speaks only the word fuga, is her most trusted and loyal servant, frequently accompanying her on errands and into battle. Riza Wildman, a half-werewolf, initially hunts Hime suspecting her in the death of her brother but later becomes a close ally who freeloads at Hime's mansion. Reiri Kamura, a vampire, also joins the household, and despite a cold relationship with Hime and differing beliefs, they share knowledge and courage when facing problems together. Hime also holds great appreciation for Sawawa, Hiro's sister, who serves as her maid and is valued for her cooking skills, particularly her tea preparation.
Over the course of the story, Hime shows development primarily through her evolving commitment to her servants. The loss of her previous blood warriors at Severin's hands left a deep impression on her, and she carries this memory as a driving force never to let such an event happen again. Her willingness to break rules and go to extreme lengths to save her current servants reflects this growth from a more detached royal into someone who actively protects those under her command. While she maintains her cool, collected demeanor throughout, there are moments where this composure cracks, particularly when dealing with Severin, against whom she came closest to losing her temper.
