Description
Miyokichi Nobuse is a supporting character from the anime True Tears. He is a first-year high school student at Mugihama High School, where he attends Class B alongside his lifelong friend Shinichiro Nakagami. Miyokichi has known Shinichiro since childhood, and the two frequently spend time together at school and at the local imagawayaki shop run by Aiko Endo’s family.
Personality-wise, Miyokichi is kind, warm, and approachable. He often puts the needs of others ahead of his own, demonstrating a strong desire to help his friends whenever possible. He can be persistent when pursuing his goals, especially those related to his passion for photography. However, he sometimes finds it difficult to express his feelings directly, which can lead to misunderstandings or internal conflict. His motivations are rooted in supporting those he cares about and using his camera to capture meaningful moments and tell stories visually.
In the story, Miyokichi serves as a close confidant and a source of lighthearted teasing for Shinichiro, often bringing up Shinichiro’s apparent interest in Hiromi Yuasa. His own romantic arc is significant: he is initially in a relationship with Aiko, but her feelings are not fully reciprocated because her heart lies with Shinichiro. This unrequited love becomes a source of tension and growth for Miyokichi. Later, he develops romantic feelings for Noe Isurugi and tries to help her in her own struggles, revealing his capacity for empathy and persistence.
Over the course of the series, Miyokichi matures emotionally. He learns to be more assertive and to articulate his emotions openly. His hobby of photography not only showcases his talent for detail and composition but also becomes a means of self-expression and a way to connect with others. Through his experiences with love and friendship, he gains a better understanding of himself and those around him.
