Description
Ichiko Takashima is a main character from the visual novel Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru, where she is revealed to be a ghost inhabiting the dormitory of Seio Academy, an all-girls school. Standing 154 centimeters tall with short violet hair and matching violet eyes, her physical appearance is that of a teenage girl, though her true nature is far more extraordinary. Her birthday is November 24.

Ichiko is not a living student but the spirit of a former underclassman who died over two decades before the main story begins. Her death occurred under tragic circumstances: she had a close relationship with a previous Elder of the academy, who was actually the mother of the protagonist Mizuho. While hospitalized due to a weak constitution, she could not wait to see the Elder. She left the hospital and went to the Elder's room to wait for her, but died there before they could speak. Following her death, that room became known as the closed room, and it remained unoccupied until Mizuho arrived and began living in it according to his grandfather's will.

Despite her spectral nature, Ichiko possesses a vibrant and energetic personality. She is described as bubbly, overenthusiastic, and talkative, often speaking very fast when excited. She is kind, gentle, and fiercely loyal to those she cares about, though her tendency to become flustered and babble can sometimes make her less than helpful in practical situations. She is also a true romantic, easily forming deep attachments. An important aspect of her character is that she initially took some time to fully understand and accept that she is a ghost and therefore dead. For a significant period, she was unaware of her own death, continuing to linger in the dormitory.

As a ghost, Ichiko has several distinct supernatural abilities and limitations. While she can touch living people and interact with them on a physical level, she cannot pick up objects and is capable of slipping through walls. Invisible barriers prevent her from leaving the dormitory grounds, though her movable range extends to the school campus after a specific event occurs. Additionally, she possesses the capacity for spirit possession, an ability that proves critically helpful to Mizuho at a key moment in the story.

Regarding her role in the narrative and key relationships, Ichiko becomes deeply attached to Mizuho, remarking that he looks very much like his mother, the previous Elder who was her original love interest from her lifetime. This resemblance forms the basis of her emotional connection to the protagonist. She resides in the same closed room that Mizuho occupies, and their relationship develops as she reveals her true nature to him. Her story route is one of the six main romantic paths available to players, and it is generally recommended to have completed at least one other route before pursuing hers for the full narrative impact. Her fierce loyalty and romantic inclinations drive much of her involvement in the plot as she navigates her feelings for Mizuho while confronting the circumstances of her own death.
