May-yu Jen is a fifteen-year-old character from Shanghai and the older twin sister of May-yen. She is a Wizard assigned to the Garuda, primarily serving Mao Lu-Shen and occasionally Kyo Sogoru. Her family was lost during a conflict with the Gards-orm and the failed operation to reclaim the Shanghai Server, a traumatic event that shapes her guarded demeanor. In the battle of the Shanghai server, she was salvaged to the Oceanus. She possesses the limited ability to act as a Gunner for a Zegapain and has done so for the Caladrius. May-yu is described as having a tougher, colder personality; Kyo considers her the bad-tempered one among the twins and unwittingly upsets her when the Shanghai server is destroyed. Despite her strict exterior, she can show a more sensitive side under pressure. She is deeply devoted to Lu-Shen and was aware of Lu-Shen’s feelings for Kyo even before her confession. She accompanies Kyo to see the real Maihama, helping him come to terms with the nature of his world. Her development involves coping with loss and continuing to fight as a member of the Oceanus crew, demonstrating resilience and loyalty to her comrades.
