Description
Genta Ogawara is the leader of the organization known as Angel, a position he assumes after Shizuka Tsuzaki. As the father of the main protagonist Ryouhei Ogawara, Genta is a former Jinki pilot of considerable renown and is a close acquaintance of Shizuka. His skills are not limited to piloting giant robots; he is also a master swordsman with first-rate abilities, a talent that has been with him since before the era of Jinki combat.

Beyond his official roles, Genta served as a swordsmanship instructor to a young man named Hino Hakuya, whom he treated more as a friend than a simple disciple. This relationship would later have tragic consequences, as Hakuya eventually becomes the villain known as Kokushou. In his earlier years, Genta was instrumental in the development of the Jinki program in Venezuela alongside Hakuya and Shizuka. During this period, he married Akana Oike, a member of the development team, with whom he had his son, Ryouhei. Genta once piloted the Moribito Type-0, which served as the prototype for the later Moribito Type-01, demonstrating his long-standing history with these machines.

Despite his age and having retired from active duty as a pilot, Genta is described as having a strong physique and a dandy-like personality, earning him admiration from younger characters. His temperament and abilities are further reflected in his son, who is noted to be rash and quick-tempered, yet deeply loyal. When Angel collapses due to the rebellion of his former student, Kokushou, Genta is forced to return to combat, piloting the experimental Moribit 0. Even as an older, retired pilot, his skills remain top-notch, allowing him to easily defeat the active-duty new model Touja.

The defining tragedy of Genta's life and the key event of his role in the story is his final confrontation with Kokushou. During a duel at Table Mountain, Genta encounters a young girl named Akao Hiiragi, who is the spitting image of his late wife, Akana. This shock and confusion leave him vulnerable, allowing Kokushou to mortally wound him with a strike to the back. He manages to escape with the girl and dies peacefully in the arms of his son, Ryouhei, expressing his contentment at being able to see the two people he most wanted to meet at the end. His death becomes a pivotal motivator for Ryouhei, sending him into a rage and setting him on a path of vengeance. Genta's influence extends beyond his death, as he later appears as a spirit within the heart of Aoba Tsuzaki, aiding his son and guiding both young pilots to awaken new powers in their final battle against Kokushou.
