Description
Abel is the central protagonist of the anime, a young man whose life is defined by a quest he never asked for but fully embraces. Initially, he is a carefree teenager living in the quiet village of Ariahan, where his days are spent on simple adventures, such as fishing and spending time with his close friend Tiala. At the outset, he is portrayed as somewhat reckless and not particularly formidable, as demonstrated when a gigantic fish easily defeats him. This peaceful existence is shattered when the demon Baramos kidnaps Tiala because of a magical Red Stone she possesses, an artifact capable of awakening the Great Dragon.

Following the kidnapping, Abel receives the Blue Stone from a dying village elder, learning that he is the one chosen to bear this artifact, which has the power to seal the Great Dragon should it ever be released. This event marks his transformation from an ordinary boy into a hero on a predetermined path. His primary motivation throughout the series is straightforward and deeply personal: to rescue Tiala from Baramos at any cost. This goal drives him to leave his home and embark on a perilous journey across the world.

In his role as the chosen hero, Abel serves as the leader of the party that forms around him. He is the determined core of the group, consistently pushing forward in pursuit of Baramos and the means to defeat him. His key relationships are central to the story. His bond with Tiala is his strongest motivation; she is not merely a damsel in distress but also an inventive genius whose creations, like a hang glider, feature in their adventures. His childhood friend MokoMoko, a larger but less athletic companion, is the first to join his quest. Later, he is joined by Yanak, an elderly and eccentric wizard, and Daisy, a tough, money-driven mercenary warrior who becomes a valuable ally and eventually trains him in swordsmanship.

Throughout his journey, Abel undergoes significant development. He is not a master warrior from the start but grows in strength and skill over time. A notable part of his development involves dedicated sword training from Daisy, which helps him take a significant leap in his combat abilities. His character arc is a classic journey from an inexperienced boy to a true hero, culminating in a final, desperate confrontation with Baramos. In a moment of great personal cost, after the dragon is released and his friends make sacrifices, Abel is united with the Red and Blue Stones to receive the legendary armor, sword, and shield of Roto, finally granting him the power to defeat his nemesis.

Abel's notable abilities are primarily those of a warrior. He is proficient with a sword and shield, and his combat prowess grows steadily as he gains experience from numerous battles. He does not typically use magic but relies on physical strength, courage, and the weapons he acquires. His most significant power is tied to his destiny as the bearer of the Blue Stone, which ultimately allows him to channel the legendary equipment of Roto to vanquish Baramos.
