Description
Meitzer Ronah is the patriarch of the Ronah family and the founder of the Cosmo Babylonia, serving as a central antagonist in the story. His background is deeply rooted in the ambition of his own father, Scharnhorst Buch, a wealthy and influential businessman who founded the Buch Concern. Originally born Meitzer Buch, he was renamed as a teenager when his father purchased the prestigious Ronah surname, a European noble name, to elevate the family's social standing. Meitzer inherited the vast business empire from his father, and from a young age, he accompanied him on his ship to learn commercial practices firsthand.

Driven by a long-held family dream, Meitzer Ronah is the primary advocate of a political philosophy known as cosmo aristocracy. This ideology holds that the Earth Sphere should be ruled by a select class of nobles rather than by the democratic institutions of the Earth Federation. Meitzer is depicted as a man of rigid and dogmatic commitment to this vision, believing it to be the only path to a stable and well-ordered society. He is an ambitious and calculating patriarch who is willing to sacrifice personal relationships for his grand political goals. His obsession with his ideology is so intense that it alienates members of his own family, particularly his daughter, who rejects his rigid worldview.

In the story, Meitzer Ronah's primary role is that of the master planner and political figurehead behind the Crossbone Vanguard, the military force created to seize control of the Frontier colonies. While his son-in-law, Carozzo Ronah, also known as Iron Mask, serves as the public military commander and the more volatile threat, Meitzer is the strategic financier and ideological founder of the new nation, Cosmo Babylonia. He uses his immense wealth from the Buch Concern to back the Crossbone Vanguard's invasion. His goal is to conquer the space colonies at Side 4 and establish them as the foundation for his aristocratic empire. To legitimize his regime, he seeks a figurehead from his own bloodline. After his daughter fled the family, he turns his attention to his granddaughter, Berah Ronah, who had been living under the name Cecily Fairchild. Following her capture, Meitzer pressures her into assuming the role of a symbolic princess for Cosmo Babylonia, intending to mold her into the living embodiment of his new order.

Meitzer Ronah's key relationships are defined by his ideology and often result in conflict. His relationship with his daughter, Nadia Ronah, was destroyed by his zealous commitment to cosmo aristocracy, causing her to leave home and take her daughter, Berah, away from his influence. This leaves his relationship with his granddaughter, Berah, as a primary focus in the film. He views her less as a family member and more as a crucial political asset and symbol for his cause. His relationship with his son-in-law, Carozzo Ronah, is one of mutual exploitation. Meitzer relies on Carozzo's ruthlessness and military leadership to achieve his political goals, but Carozzo harbors his own, far more extreme plans for humanity that ultimately operate outside of Meitzer's control and vision.

Regarding development, Meitzer Ronah is a character whose essential nature does not change significantly but rather becomes a static backdrop against which other characters must define themselves. His development is largely in the past, having spent decades building the financial and military resources to enact his plan. Throughout the events of the conflict, he remains focused on his singular goal. The narrative suggests that his dream ultimately fails to be realized. Although the Crossbone Vanguard succeeds in capturing the Frontier colonies and he attends the founding ceremony of Cosmo Babylonia, the grand vision collapses due to the defeat of Carozzo Ronah and the subsequent rejection of his principles by his own granddaughter. His personal abilities are not related to piloting mobile suits or physical combat. Instead, his notable abilities are purely those of a powerful businessman and political strategist. He possesses exceptional leadership skills, the financial acumen to run a massive corporate empire, and the strategic foresight to orchestrate a military takeover of space colonies. He is a man who wields power through wealth, influence, and long-term planning rather than through direct force.
