Description
Jack is a prominent antagonist in Beyblade: Metal Masters, serving as a member of the United States representative team, Star Breaker. He is closely associated with the HD Academy, an institution run by the scientist Dr. Ziggurat, which focuses on artificially enhancing the skills of Bladers. Before his involvement with the Academy, Jack was not a particularly strong or successful Blader, having failed to win any significant battles. His life changed when Dr. Ziggurat recruited him to participate in the Arrangement System, a series of experiments that dramatically and artificially boosted his blading abilities and led to the creation of his unique Beyblade, Evil Befall.

Jack is defined by his obsessive and eccentric personality, viewing the world primarily through the lens of an artist. He is not motivated by typical goals like victory or fame; instead, he sees the Beyblade stadium as a blank canvas and battles as a medium for creating artwork. His battle style reflects this obsession, as his Beyblade, Evil Befall, carves intricate patterns and images into the stadium floor. He has been shown creating designs such as roses and a peacock’s tail feathers during his fights. This artistic self-absorption makes him appear detached and self-centered, living largely in his own world, where anything that does not measure up to his artistic standards is deemed worthless. He is ruthless in battle and shows little regard for his opponents' well-being, viewing them as components of his art.

The Arrangement System has a profound effect on Jack's mental state, making him considerably unstable. He openly appreciates the system for changing his personality, believing it has liberated him and brought him closer to the world of art. A key manifestation of this instability is his intense reaction to the destruction of his artwork. When his stadium carvings are broken or his victories are overturned, he experiences immediate and dramatic mental breakdowns. Socially, he is highly selective, showing interest only in those he deems elegant, such as Ryuga and Tsubasa Otori, whom he sees not simply as rivals but as living pieces of art.

Within the story of Metal Masters, Jack plays a crucial role as a major obstacle for the protagonists. He first makes a notable impression on Ryuga, who senses his potential. In the World Championships, Jack competes against Team Excalibur, where he secures a decisive and psychologically crushing victory over the blader Klaus, using his special move, Beautiful Death. After the victory, he mockingly titles his carved artwork The Pitiful Baby Goat. His most critical role, however, occurs during the championship finals against Team GanGan Galaxy. He is originally slated to battle Gingka but is instead confronted by Ryuga, who crashes the event seeking revenge on Dr. Ziggurat. In this highly anticipated battle, Jack initially takes control, carving a grand peacock design in the stadium. However, Ryuga reveals he was merely gauging Jack's power, having secretly absorbed Evil Befall’s energy the entire time before defeating Jack in a single, overwhelming counterattack. Later, Jack confronts Tsubasa inside the flying Hades City. In this battle, he uses his Beyblade to carve through marble pillars, but he is ultimately defeated once more when Tsubasa overpowers him with the Shining Tornado Buster special move. The destruction of his art leads to another mental collapse.

Key relationships define his interactions. He is a subordinate ally of Dr. Ziggurat and a teammate of Damian Hart and Zeo Abyss. While he works with Damian, his focus remains on his own artistic pursuits. He holds a deep fascination for Ryuga and Tsubasa, seeing them as worthy subjects for his art due to their elegance and strength. His character shows a slight development in Beyblade: Metal Fury, where he appears in a minor role. Without the influence of the Arrangement System, his personality is noticeably toned down and calmer, though still recognizably eccentric and artistically driven. He continues to use his Evil Befall Beyblade, competing in the Destroyer Dome tournament, where he wins one match but is quickly eliminated by another Blader, Jigsaw, indicating his power has diminished without the artificial enhancements.

Jack's notable abilities are intrinsically linked to his Beyblade, Evil Befall UW145EWD. Its primary feature is its spin track, which allows it to carve gouges into the stadium floor, enabling his artistic battle style. Jack has two signature special moves. The first is Befall the Ripper, a slicing attack used to cut the stadium and pressure his opponent. His most powerful technique is Beautiful Death, which carves a complex, permanent image into the stadium while decisively overwhelming his opponent, as seen in his victory over Klaus. The Beyblade also boasts exceptionally high stamina, with Jack claiming it can spin almost indefinitely.
