Description
Hibiki Amawa is the central protagonist of the story. He is a young man who has recently graduated from college with a teaching certificate specializing in athletics, and his dream is to become a professional teacher. He finds himself in a difficult financial situation, unable to pay the monthly rent for his apartment to his landlady, and is desperate for work.

His initial attempt to apply for a teaching position at the nearby Seitō Sannomiya Private School ends in rejection. The school's administration holds a policy of hiring only women, and his application is dismissed because of his gender. Offended by this discrimination and more determined than ever to prove the merits of his educational philosophy, he accepts an audacious offer from his landlady. With her help, he agrees to disguise himself as a woman to deceive the school's female-only administration and secure employment.

In his male form, Hibiki is a young man of average build with dark hair. His female disguise transforms him into a popular and attractive teacher with long brown hair often styled in a ponytail. His landlady provides gadgets to aid the transformation, including items to alter his voice and create a convincing feminine figure. Despite the elaborate ruse, Hibiki considers himself a normal young man and must constantly live with the fear of being exposed. As he grows accustomed to his female role, he sometimes picks up certain feminine mannerisms and habits, though he also makes occasional small mistakes that risk revealing his secret.

As a teacher, Hibiki is passionate and full of energy. He is assigned as the homeroom and physical education teacher for one of the classes. He quickly notices that conservative views dominate the school and that the few male students are treated unfairly. He works to introduce new ideas to the school day and bring a fresh perspective, though he initially meets with resistance from the administration. His class includes students with interpersonal conflicts that lead to fights, and Hibiki must mediate these situations while simultaneously maintaining his disguise. He develops a close, almost friendly relationship with his students, who call him Hibiki-chan and place great trust in him, often seeing him as more of a good friend than a strict teacher.

One of the most significant relationships Hibiki develops is with a student named Fūko Kuzuha. Initially, he cares for her simply as a teacher concerned for his student, but as the story progresses, he finds himself falling in love with her. This creates a deep internal conflict, as he believes a romantic relationship between a teacher and student is unacceptable. For Fūko, Hibiki becomes a significant figure who fills multiple roles, serving as an authority figure, a friend, and even a parental substitute. Their relationship deepens unintentionally, leading to romantic moments that both recognize as improper, forcing Hibiki to create distance despite not wanting to hurt her feelings.

Throughout the story, Hibiki faces several other challenges. The vice-principal is suspicious of him from the start and watches him closely, trying to find proof of his deception. As he earns more trust from students and even the school director, the consequences of being exposed become ever greater. The more his students believe in him, the more he thinks about what will happen if his true identity is revealed. He is also forced to navigate awkward situations inherent to his disguise, such as declining invitations to join female students for group activities like showering.

When he is eventually exposed, often at a parent-teacher meeting, Hibiki does not try to make excuses for his actions. He quietly leaves the school, and after losing both his income and his housing, he departs for another city, not before delivering a farewell speech to his students. His primary motivation throughout the story remains consistent: he wants to prove that a male teacher can be just as passionate and effective as a female one, and to teach his students valuable life lessons. His journey ultimately forces him to confront not only the school's discrimination but also his own evolving identity and feelings.
