TV-Series
Description
Amick Hendar is a supporting character who serves as the commander of the Education Station on Second Earth. She is a woman in her thirties with a stern and commanding presence, and she is responsible for the reconditioning and training of individuals deemed unfit for standard military duties. Her primary function within the story is as an authority figure who comes into direct conflict with the protagonist, Marlene, whom she subjects to a harsh program of re-education intended to mold her into a more compliant and ruthless soldier.

Her personality is defined by a volatile combination of ferocity and bravery. She is known for her harsh methods, which are considered necessary to produce strong, emotionally hardened fighters capable of combating the Blue threat. This temperament is not merely administrative; when pushed, she does not hesitate to resort to physical violence, as demonstrated when she strikes Marlene in the solar plexus during a confrontation over an escape attempt. Despite her cruelty, her actions are not born of cowardice. During a coup, she actively takes up a weapon to fight, showing she is willing to put her own life on the line for her beliefs.

Amick's role in the narrative is primarily as an antagonist and an obstacle. She is deeply committed to the military hierarchy and the established order of Second Earth. Her motivations are rooted in a genuine, if brutal, belief in the necessity of her work to ensure humanity's survival against the Blue. This conviction leads her to oppose the decisions of Seno Miyagi, the head of science, later in the series, as she attempts to take action to leave Second Earth entirely rather than follow his directives.

Her key relationships are defined by conflict and authority. She has a direct and antagonistic relationship with Marlene, seeing her as a disobedient subject who requires forceful correction. Her dynamic with the wider military command, particularly with Seno, shifts from subordinate to adversarial as she disagrees with the strategic direction being taken.

Amick undergoes a distinct character development arc from a rigid enforcer of institutional rules to a renegade acting on her own principles. Following the coup and her subsequent imprisonment for her actions, she does not resign herself to her fate. Driven by a fierce pride and the belief that she has lived to fight the Blue, she stages an escape, seizes a transport ship, and departs for the surface of the planet alone, choosing to continue the fight on her own terms rather than remain confined. In terms of abilities, while she is primarily a commander, she is a capable combatant, proficient with firearms as shown during the coup, and possesses the physical strength and resilience to engage in hand-to-hand combat.
