Description
Qwenthur Barbotage is the central protagonist of the anime Heavy Object. He is a seventeen-year-old civilian student serving with the Legitimacy Kingdom's 37th Mobile Maintenance Battalion as a trainee mechanic, with the ambition of one day becoming a designer of Objects, the enormous armored war machines that define the conflict of his world. He comes to an Alaskan military base as a foreign student specifically to study multipurpose Objects, and unlike many of the soldiers around him, he does not come from an elite military background. His position in the army is built on technical knowledge and enthusiasm rather than family status or combat training.
In personality, Qwenthur is kind, polite, and instinctively protective of others, with a chivalrous streak that often puts him in harm's way for the sake of people he feels responsible for. He is also exceptionally quick-witted and intellectual, with a relentless curiosity about how Objects work and how they can be beaten.
