TV-Series
Description
Lilith Bristol is a transfer student from the British branch of Kouryou Academy who comes to Japan after learning of the existence of another student with an unusual Blaze, Tooru Kokonoe. She originates from Great Britain and belongs to a wealthy and influential family that owns the Bristol Company, an enterprise with financial ties to the Dawn Organization. This background grants her certain privileges that allow her to bypass some school regulations. She is accompanied by a personal butler named Sarah, whose family has long served the Bristols.
In terms of personality, Lilith is confident, assertive, and often displays an aristocratic sense of entitlement. She is portrayed as daring and adventurous, frequently seeking out exciting or thrilling activities. She has a cheerful and lively demeanor, often seen smiling and playfully teasing those around her. At the same time, she can be domineering and prefers to follow her own pace, rarely asking for help from others. While this self-centered behavior might appear selfish, her frank and sociable nature allows her to form friendly relationships with her peers. She also shows a playful, sometimes childish side, as seen when she acts like a child during an amusement park outing. According to Sakuya Tsukumo, Lilith possesses two metaphorical masks, suggesting a duality between her outward charm and her inner self.
Lilith’s primary motivation for transferring to Kouryou Academy is to make Tooru Kokonoe her Duo partner. She is drawn to him because he, like her, is classified as an Exception—a student whose Blaze differs from the standard melee-weapon form. Initially, her interest is driven by this shared uniqueness, but after witnessing his determination and spirit during the Survive battle, she comes to genuinely admire him. She becomes convinced that he is meant for her and boldly declares her intention to make him her future husband. Her efforts to win his affection include calling him her future husband, kissing him on the cheek, and repeatedly insisting on being with him, which often provokes protests from Tooru’s official Duo partner, Julie Sigtuna.
In the story, Lilith serves as one of the main characters and a rival for Tooru’s affections. She is a disruptive but ultimately valuable ally during key conflicts, including battles against the Smith and the Dark Ray 6. Over time, she learns the importance of teamwork and integrates into the main group, moving beyond her initial desire to be Tooru’s Duo partner to become a trusted friend and ally. Her presence adds a layer of comedic tension and romantic rivalry, particularly with Julie.
Lilith’s key relationships include Tooru Kokonoe, whom she pursues relentlessly, and Julie Sigtuna, with whom she shares a strained rivalry over Tooru’s attention. Despite frequent arguments, the two are able to set aside their differences when working together for Tooru’s well-being, indicating a mutual respect beneath the surface. She also has a long-standing acquaintance with Sakuya Tsukumo, whom she teases about her composed demeanor and whose isolated worldview she recognizes and challenges. Lilith provocatively declares that she intends to challenge and “destroy” Sakuya’s fixation on the concept of the Absolute Duo.
Lilith is classified as an Exception because her Blaze does not manifest as a typical melee weapon. Instead, it takes the form of a rifle, a complex long-range firearm that is rare among Blaze users at Kouryou Academy. This grants her exceptional long-range combat capabilities and sets her apart as a uniquely powerful fighter. Her abilities are further enhanced by her upbringing, which included training in hunting and shooting from a young age. Her personal hobby is hunting, and she also enjoys visiting Death New Land, a high-risk virtual-reality battlefield, once or twice a month.
Her development throughout the series involves a gradual shift from a self-interested, entitlement-driven individual into someone who values teamwork and genuine bonds. She starts as a forceful outsider trying to insert herself into Tooru’s life, but over time she becomes a vital part of the group, fighting alongside her peers and showing a deeper capacity for loyalty and care. Her growth is marked by her willingness to set aside her own ambitions for the sake of others, even as she continues to pursue Tooru’s romantic interest.
Notable abilities include her proficiency with her rifle Blaze, which she wields with skill and precision. She is also physically daring, as demonstrated when she leaps from a helicopter into the sea to join Tooru. Her combat style emphasizes ranged attacks, making her a strategic asset in team battles. She is also shown to be resilient and resourceful, as seen when she is kidnapped during a battle and later rescued by Tooru, after which she acknowledges his cleverness and fighting spirit.
