Description
Mashas Rodant is a prominent aristocrat in the kingdom of Brune, holding the title of Earl of Aude. He is an elderly knight with gray hair, brown eyes, a moustache, and a beard. Before the Brune Civil War, Mashas served as both a father figure and a mentor to Tigrevurmud Vorn, the protagonist of Lord Marksman and Vanadis. This relationship stems from his deep friendship with Tigrevurmud's late father, Urs Vorn, and he takes his responsibility for the younger man's guidance seriously. Mashas possesses a well-balanced and level-headed character, which makes him naturally suited to assisting Tigre with planning and strategy while also ensuring that the impulsive young lord remains grounded in practical matters. His motivations are largely shaped by his loyalty to the Vorn family and his desire to see stability restored to Brune. As the story unfolds, Mashas plays a key supporting role, lending his military experience and tactical advice to Tigre and his allies. He aids in the defense of the southern region of Agnes against invading forces from Muozinel, fighting alongside the war maiden Ludmila Lourie, and contributes to the broader effort to prove the royal lineage of Regin, the rightful heir to the Brune throne. His most important relationship is with Tigrevurmud, whom he treats almost like a son, advising him through both political and personal challenges. He also holds a position of respect among other Brunish nobles and works alongside various commanders, including the Vanadis. A prequel light novel titled Lord Marksman and Vanadis: Legend of Young Mashas explores his younger years before Tigre's birth. In terms of abilities, Mashas is a capable swordsman and an experienced battlefield commander, though his primary contributions come from his wisdom, political know-how, and seasoned judgment rather than from any supernatural powers.
