Description
Kōta Shibaki is a second-year student at Nishi High School and the main character of Magimoji Rurumo. After an unfortunate incident, he earns a reputation as the school's most notorious pervert, causing girls to avoid him entirely. Despite his outwardly lecherous behavior, which includes lifting girls' skirts and distributing adult magazines, he possesses a genuinely kind and helpful heart. His motivations are initially driven by his fixation on girls, but this shifts when he stumbles upon a witch-summoning manual in the school library. Treating it as a joke, he performs the ritual and summons Rurumo, an apprentice witch. After she spares his soul, she is demoted and tasked with having him use up 666 magic tickets that grant wishes, though she is unaware that each wish shortens his life. Shibaki learns the truth from Rurumo's cat familiar, Chiro, and is forced to choose between helping Rurumo regain her full witch status by using the tickets or resisting temptation to preserve his own life. This central dilemma defines his role in the story, placing him at the heart of a comedic and occasionally tense supernatural conflict. His key relationships include Rurumo, toward whom he develops genuine, protective feelings beyond his usual crudeness, and Chiro, who serves as a cautious advisor. His friendships with fellow members of the Mysterious Discovery Club, such as Tanako Kujirai, also shape his daily life. Over the course of the series, Shibaki shows gradual emotional growth, learning to care for others and wrestle with self-sacrifice. He does not possess any magical abilities himself; instead, his power lies in the choices he makes with the magic tickets, using them for wishes that range from trivial to life-altering.
