Description
Margaret is a resident of the Velvet Room and serves as the assistant to Igor. She first appears in Persona 4 the Golden Animation when the protagonist, Yu Narukami, enters the Velvet Room at the beginning of his journey. Margaret took over the role after her sister Elizabeth set off on her own journey. She speaks to Yu in a cool, rational manner, and at first glance she appears very composed and dignified. However, she actually possesses a silly and whimsical sense of humor that surfaces in her interactions. Despite her serious exterior, she occasionally makes deadpan remarks that reveal her playful side.
Margaret manages the Persona Compendium in the Velvet Room, allowing Yu to record and summon Personas. She also serves as the custodian for Marie, a mysterious girl who appears in the Golden version of the story. Her role in the story is primarily that of a guide and support figure, offering advice on Persona fusion and the importance of social links. She represents the Empress Arcana, and through the social link system, Yu can deepen his bond with her by completing a series of requests, each requiring him to fuse a specific Persona with a particular skill. These requests serve as a euphemism for drawing out aspects of Yu’s own personality.
