Michelle Ann Dunphy

Description
Michelle Ann Dunphy is an American actress known for her work in voice-over for animation, video games, and commercials, particularly in English-language dubs of anime series. Born on December 28, 1982, in Columbus, Ohio, she developed an interest in performance from a young age, often creating and starring in homemade video productions. This early passion led her to study theatre at Northern Michigan University before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a professional career. Her initial foray into the entertainment industry was focused on voice-over work, a field she found appealing because it allowed her to portray a wide range of characters without being limited by physical appearance.

Dunphy's voice-over career became active in the mid-2000s. Her credits from this period include roles in several anime series produced for the North American market. She is notably recognized for her contributions to the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha franchise. In the original Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha series, she provided the English voice for Momoko Takamachi, the mother of the protagonist. She reprised this role for its sequel, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's. In addition to this recurring character, Dunphy also voiced other roles in the franchise, including Falin K. Ehrlichkeit in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and Falin in an episode of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's, as well as providing additional voices for the series.

Beyond the Nanoha series, her anime voice roles included work on other titles distributed in the mid-2000s, such as Zero no Tsukaima and Aika R-16: Virgin Mission. Her work in the industry has also led to recurring collaborations with other voice actors, including Cristina Valenzuela and Jennifer Alyx, who were also part of the casts for these dubs. In 2009, Dunphy's work as a voice actor was recognized with a Voicey Award for Best New Voice. Her career has also extended to voice work for other major clients, including Disney, and for video game companies such as S2Games.
