TV-Series
Description
Jun Suzuki is a supporting character who attends Sakuragaoka High School and is a close friend of Ui Hirasawa and Azusa Nakano. She has dark brown hair that she typically ties back in two small updos and dark brown eyes.
Jun has a playful and easygoing personality, though she sometimes has a tendency to be unintentionally rude, which often leads to Azusa reprimanding her. Despite this, she remains an energetic and spirited individual. One of her more whimsical quirks is her claim that she bunches up her hair to keep it from exploding and that she can predict the weather by checking how frizzy her hair is in the morning, using it as a gauge for humidity.
Having been friends with Ui since primary school, Jun entered Sakuragaoka High School with her. Jun had an initial interest in the Light Music Club and visited the clubroom with Ui. However, she found the club's atmosphere and the antics of its senior members to be too strange for her comfort. Instead, she chose to join the school's jazz club, primarily because a cool upperclassman was a member. Despite this decision, she later began to regret her choice as she heard more about the fun and activities the Light Music Club experienced.
In the jazz club, Jun plays the bass guitar, an instrument she continues to practice and develop her skills on. She is a known admirer of Mio Akiyama, looking up to her as a skilled senior bassist. Jun herself plays a Yamaha SBV500 in a rare pearl white color.
Her motivation and role in the story evolve over time. While she remains a friend to Ui and Azusa throughout their first two years, it is only later that she finally joins the Light Music Club. After the original senior members graduate, Jun quits the jazz club and joins Azusa and Ui in forming the new iteration of the Light Music Club, a group that eventually calls itself the Wakaba Girls. She becomes the club's bassist, finally fulfilling a role she had been adjacent to for so long.
In terms of key relationships, her friendship with Ui Hirasawa is her longest and most stable. She is also very close to Azusa Nakano, who becomes a trusted friend that Jun will ask for favors, such as looking after her cat. Jun has an older brother named Atsushi Suzuki, whom she affectionately calls Acchan. He also plays bass, and Jun relies on him for secret training sessions to improve her own playing, as she feels she is not yet very good. Her admiration for her upperclassman Mio Akiyama is another significant dynamic, as she respects Mio's talent and presence as a bassist.
Throughout the story, Jun's development is marked by her eventual integration into the Light Music Club. She transitions from an outsider who found the club strange to a full-fledged member who helps carry it forward into a new era. Her abilities include playing bass guitar, and she is known to use a pick or even a coin to play when she forgets hers. She is also noted for having a cat, which Azusa gave the nickname Azu-nyan 2.
