Description
Beast is a first-string member of the Noah's Ark Circus, where she serves as the star animal tamer, performing with her tiger, Betty. Her past is one of profound hardship. She grew up in the slums of London's East End alongside other children who would become her fellow circus performers, including Joker, Dagger, and the trapeze artists Peter and Wendy. As a child, she was already missing her left leg, a condition present from birth, and the group of "defective" orphans survived as unsuccessful thieves before being taken in by their benefactor, Baron Kelvin, who provided them with high-quality prosthetics and a home. Her real name is never revealed, and her stage name, Beast, was given to her by Joker.

In terms of appearance, Beast is a young woman with a curvaceous figure and distinctive red eyes. Her black hair is styled in tight curls, and she wears heavy stage makeup, including dark red lipstick and markings under her left eye. Her circus costume is revealing and flashy, consisting of a black leather bodice and a short skirt, which she wears as part of her performance persona rather than for personal scandalousness. The most notable aspect of her appearance is her left leg, which is a prosthetic made of a ceramic-like material crafted to look like a doll's limb, ending above the knee.

Beast's personality is aggressive, domineering, and quick to anger. She has a short fuse and is not afraid to resort to violence, often lashing out with her whip when irritated or feeling insulted. This defensive aggression stems from a deep sensitivity and a bitter resentment toward those who live normal, comfortable lives, a luxury she has never known. Despite her prickly exterior, she is a capable actress who can smile and charm a crowd, but among the few people she trusts, her true emotions are much easier to read. At her core, she deeply cares for her makeshift family of circus members, whom she considers her brothers and sisters, and regrets the darker deeds her life has forced her to perform.

Her primary motivation is her unrequited love for Joker, the ringleader of the circus. She has nursed feelings for him for a long time and is deeply pained by his inability to return her affection. This longing for a normal life and for Joker's love makes her emotionally vulnerable. Unlike the other members, Beast does not share their high regard for Baron Kelvin, and she is the one who suggests to Joker that they should abandon him and their mission to start a new life with just the circus, demonstrating her desire to protect her found family from their sinister patron.

Within the story of the Noah's Ark Circus arc, Beast plays a crucial role as a source of information for the protagonists. After Ciel Phantomhive and his demon butler Sebastian Michaelis infiltrate the circus, Sebastian exploits Beast's emotional distress. Following a painful rejection from Joker, a heartbroken Beast is vulnerable, and Sebastian seduces her, manipulating her into revealing the name of their mysterious benefactor, Baron Kelvin, and the nature of their dark work. This act of betrayal, born of her pain and loneliness, becomes a turning point in the investigation.

Her key relationships are central to her character. Her love for Joker defines her emotional state, and she is often seen seeking comfort or expressing her desire to escape their grim reality with him. She shares a close bond with the other first-string members, referring to them as family, but her most significant and tragic interaction is with Sebastian, who coldly uses her feelings to get what he needs. Beast shows little development away from her tragic trajectory. She remains a figure of pathos, driven by love and loyalty, but ultimately caught in a situation she cannot escape. She perishes in an explosion at the Phantomhive manor during the circus's final, ill-fated mission to abduct children, her last thoughts being of Joker.

Beast's notable abilities are tied to her role in the circus. She is a skilled animal tamer, renowned for her ability to control her tiger, Betty. In combat, her weapon of choice is her whip, which she wields with practiced aggression. Her prosthetic leg, while a symbol of her past suffering, does not grant her any superhuman abilities but is a functional and durable replacement that allows her to perform her acrobatic and demanding acts.
