Midori Fuse is a character from the anime Black Bullet. She is a ten-year-old girl with long white hair tied with a purple ribbon and purple eyes. She is a Model Cat Initiator, a cursed child infected with the Gastrea virus that grants her feline traits, including cat ears which she usually hides under a witch hat out of shame. She serves as the partner of Shouma Nagisawa, and their relationship is marked by deep trust and mutual reliance. Midori is reserved and self-conscious about her appearance due to the visible animal features that mark her as a cursed child, but she is brave and committed to her duties. Her primary motivation is to support her partner and fulfill her role in fighting Gastrea, despite the discrimination cursed children face. In the story, she participates in the Third Kanto War and other missions against Gastrea, using her enhanced physical abilities as a cat-type initiator, including superior agility and heightened senses. A significant development occurs when she is attacked by a Gastrea, causing her corrosion rate to rise uncontrollably. Believing she would only burden her team, she chooses to end her own life, demonstrating her selflessness and tragic fate.
